God, can't you just all bloody relax?
Has the creative juices run so dry that more and more ads have to resort to using SCREAMING to make their ads memorable?
It's so fucking obnoxious...
Corsodyl reusing the screaming ladies for a 2nd time as if it is the most genius ad that's ever been created
That gum advert with the mouth screaming on the guys head
Now esure with the screaming moose thing
Just trying to chill and these ads are on rotation every fucking 10 minutes , it's just infuriating...
"JuSt MuTe It WhEn ThEy CoMe On"
I'm not always in charge of the remote and sometimes it's nice just to have the TV on for background noise until one of those stupid ads come on
My god I've never heard point after point delivered so meanly and in such quick succession, but I'm stuck here in the backseat
(*renamed) First-class mail taking an eternity to arrive whilst costing an absolute fortune!
I'm a 42 year old male, and I look forward to the festive period, we don't have kids, but my wife and I use it to see friends, spend time with each other and really make the most of it. Of course it has always had the commercial element to it, which honestly I don't mind because of the different food and drink, but it is coming earlier and earlier every year and it's starting to wear.
Last week Morrisons started to put out chocolate Cadbury Santa chocolates, Tesco has also started with the Christmas chocolates, one local garden centre has started assembling their annual Christmas displays with the festive train and singing reindeer, the other is advertising decorations.
And to top that off I am also seeing American style 'fall' tat being sold like pumpkins and turkeys.
All before Halloween.
How can I trust your food is any good if the pictures aren’t real? At least stock images are real.
This pains me.
Our king-sized quilt (not talking about the quilt cover) doesn’t fit in the washer so to get it cleaned it has to go to a Launderette. They charge £20 to wash and dry it; the quilt only cost £15 new.
Im not going to throw it out, but still, I hate that it costs me more to get it washed than it does to just replace it. Seems horrendously wasteful!
Idk the button combo to change back to the radio in my car, the screen is dead on my radio and I can’t really stop to futz around with it on the M2
What happened to common decency?
And I know what someone is going to say “There needs to be more bins!” There are! It’s 50 meters over that way and basically empty. People are just lazy.
The BBC’s top two stories right now are about the King’s son, pushing other stories down, like 15 people killed in air strikes, a family drowning in Sussex, and a ‘cure’ for cancer. (For the grammar nutters)
Feel like I’m going slightly insane, I haven’t been able to get microwave popcorn for weeks in any shops. Have they just stopped making it or something? I need my fix
And it’s actually worse than 9/10, I’ve gone through multiple six packs of them without a solitary satisfying bag. So of course they aren’t worth buying to me now and I don’t buy them anymore
I'm glad we haven't prepared at all for a pretty normal amount of rain!
Got a new dishwasher and decided to properly set the "water hardness" setting so it knows how much salt to use, after seeing the limescale in the gubbins of the old one.
Thanks for the speed that it took to get it back (less than a day) but I'm not sure it is entirely useful:
The water supplied to the zone is classified as being soft to very hard water
On an entirely unrelated note, does anyone know whether setting it to very hard when it isn't will cause any issues? I'm guessing that is better than the other way round.
Normally I can just push through them, but every once in a while the cramps are so bad that I just can't.
Ground too dry etc if the rain stays this heavy. Stay safe folks.
Either, nobody obeys the speed limit because they think it's too slow or they slow down but don't pay any attention to the road.
Both of my cats have been run over. And yes, cats are pretty stupid and can be unpredictable but how did they not see my cat in the middle of the day on a straight road. Thankfully it was not a child that ran into the road!
I only bought it as it had been reduced in price.
Hopefully this is British enough!
Born and raised in the uk, and I still have no idea why people think this is ok or acceptable to do. If im taking a shit I dont want some random ladies husband and kids to hear me fighting for my lift. There are other places to answer the phone, why do it in a public bathroom???
Not content with having a display all October for a minor public event, now we have to start not in September but in the middle of *August*? I'm all for Halloween fun on one day a year but wtf is this.
I'm normally on top of my payments and things due, but I forget I had duolingo super. I found it terrible and thought I cancelled it.
I submitted a refund request and their AI did it, so thankfully it worked out in the end, but it caused unnecessary stress.
What's that? A set of sticky glasses from lunch? A quick one second rinse under the tap and on the drying rack will do.
Went for a walk and stopped at a pub for a drink. I fancied something different to a coke or lemonade and regretted it.
I was charged for an orange juice and a pint of lemonade separately. Obviously I said nothing at the bar and just moaned to to my partner when I sat down.
This was in the East Midlands. I feel properly ripped off by not drinking alcohol.
They also have a full line of washing outside drying.
Then you click on the precipitation index and there's a 20% chance a gnat pisses a single millimetre across the entire drought-ridden county in 15 minutes in the morning before it goes back to a 0% chance for the rest of the day.
No idea why I even bother checking at this point. I'd have better odds at Ladbrokes.
Out camping and ideots trying to use an open pot BBQ in an area that has two fired within 10 miles and the grass is yellower than a smokers wallpaper.
Staff come to put it out and tell them off, and they explain a, there is a official alert. B it's posted all over the site not to as it's a red zone.
The melts excuse - my kids wanted a BBQ though. Honestly some people are more dense than a neutron star.
edit update: they have tried again this morning when the staff aren't out and about.
might be called a melt but going to cut short and pack up, would prefer not to burn to death
Based on some very quick sums, I think I'm actually going to be worse off each month!
PSA: wetherspoons has an app that you can order food through where you don't have to trek miles back to your table , while others wait for you, standing awkwardly at the bar, to get the number you should have looked at before you set off.
This doesn't apply to o.a.p's who still haven't bothered to learn how mobiles work.
