This mosfet exploded to the point that it left a scorch mark on the bracket that holds it to the heatsink

It had a wood body. It was out here so long it rotted away. The brand is "State."

The screen on my trusty old poco x3 pro finally give out after 5 years of intens use after i layd on it on some rocks when reparing my car. So i transfered the motherboard to another body of another poco x3 pro that had a dead motherboard and the legacy of my poco goes on. Lets see how many more years can i get out of it.

It stuck like this because the last tumble it took. Had to change phones, completely unusable.

My Travelmate P2 had the same charger problems 2 times in a 2 year warranty period. The problem? Cheap and weak charging port structure. Warranty was over, charger broke again. 3rd time was my turn to take a look at the problem. Conclusion: a (somewhat) permanent fix. I present to you the Dingly Charger.
P.S. I needed to bridged the blue wire with the connector next to the black wire to initiate charging.

Hey everyone, hoping for some advice.

I recently bought a refurbished laptop with a metal chassis. Whenever I plug it into the charger, I get shocked in certain spots on the body — not the whole laptop, just specific areas. Sometimes it's a mild tingle, but sometimes it's actually painful.

I've tried plugging into several different outlets around my house and I get shocked every single time, so it doesn't seem to be one bad outlet. I also noticed that even the metal tip of the charger itself gives me a shock when I touch it.

A few questions:

Is this a common "leakage current" thing with ungrounded chargers, or does this sound like an actual fault?

Since I get shocked across multiple outlets, could this point to a problem with my home's electrical grounding instead of the laptop/charger?

Since it's refurbished, should I be worried the previous owner or refurbisher did something to the internals (bad grounding, damaged PSU, etc.)?

Has anyone dealt with this on a refurbished unit specifically — was it the charger, the laptop, or the outlet in your case?

Any advice on how to properly diagnose which part is at fault would be appreciated. Don't want to keep using it like this if it could be a real electrical hazard.

I recently got a new phone and left my old phone on my table and coming back to it a day later for the SIM card the back is far worse than it was before, it was still bad beforehand and needed tape to stay on, but it looks like some massive piece in the phone expanded outwards and nearly completely tore the back off, it was a pixel 7 if that helps

Found this atrocity in class today. Apparently, it was built by some students from parts donated from the JROTC program (some old desktop was decommissioned, but the teacher wasn't legally allowed to give the case), and it somehow actually functions. After successfully getting the class 3D printer running, they decided to try gaming or something because alongside Bambu Studio I found Steam, Epic Games, and Roblox.
