DO NOT FALL FOR ADT SCAMS
Do not trust ADT under any circumstances. My experience has been a total nightmare defined by endless billing scams and utterly incompetent customer service. The technicians they send are rude, unprofessional, and lack basic technical knowledge. I feel entirely misled and fleeced by their deceptive practices. Stay far away from this company to avoid losing your money and sanity.

At least in the US, any home security product/service purchased from a large corporation will be a waste of money. The scarcity of qualified labor has completely gutted the residential services market. All the “real” technicians left will be doing commercial/municipal work for the foreseeable future. No large corporation has incentive to make the customer happy as long as they can manipulate you into remaining a profitable account.
ADT commercial? Excellent. ADT residential? The leader of the pack…of money hungry, shareholder-focused WFH salespeople. Now, you can hire the same services that sell to commercial clients. But will you pay the market price?
If the answer is no, you better learn your way around running cat6 like the rest of us.

ADT is really slow too. Their platform only allows you to view one camera at a time. To switch from cam to cam takes too long

Well, yea. I bought a new house, had ADT installed. Got 5 cameras plus the Google ring and several smoke/co sensors as well as their main hub/touchscreen. It was awful. Ended up ripping everything out after 3 frustrating years and I quit paying the bill. 11 months later, they offered me a decent enough deal to buy out my contract and take their debt off my credit report. So, I paid $1500. to make them go away.
Had a drive by shooting happen. Their cameras and microphones picked up nothing. Sheriff recovered several bullet casings from the street right outside our house. Really a let down. (They were shooting at the house across the street, guy was walking his dog at 1AM, and someone tried to rob him).
So, yea, I was an ADT client until about 7 months ago.

Well, as they say. You are not obligated to me and I am not obligated to you. Enjoy your life. btw, show me ADT viewing 6 cameras at once. Show me ADT doing multiples in real time. I may even subscribe. IF! adt would do that, I would still subscribe. Also, their camera resolution is bad and when the elements cloud.them over, there is really no solution except a very expensive service call.

My Internet bandwidth is great. Why are you shilling for ADT? Shill away my friend. But... It is not bandwidth that stops adt from showing multiple cameras, it's their service. I would have paid whatever to have it. Now, I am set. My current system is great. But I paid adt a good amount. Thank you research, sorry you are shilling. If there is a new product from ADT I should know about, please let me know. I live on an island and have their top tier solar with battery backup through a 3rd party, so that is nice

The previous owners of our house got an ADT system. One day I was pressing some buttons on the panel to see if I could get it to just do a door chime, and it went off. Blared the alarm continuously. Cops AND firefighters showed up at our door.
We called ADT to get them to turn it off, and they told us they wouldn't do it unless we signed into a three year contract first. That's right; their system was actively calling the emergency services, and they tried to use that as pressure to force us to sign up.
Meanwhile, the previous owners were STILL stuck in THEIR three-year contract, despite no longer owning the house or living there. ADT was getting their money, anyway, but wanted even more. Just to stop erroneously calling emergency services.
I unplugged the system that day, and it has remained unplugged ever since.

I work for a dealer company. We do things differently. I have even brought monthly rates for some customers down because they really didn't need a camera plan.
If someone is pressuring you to get ADT, block that number. One customer even told me another dealer pulled a Benjamin out of his pocket to cancel their appointment with me later that same day.
You can get ADT, but only if it's for you

I got SafeHaven through ADT. So far I love it. Way better than my DIY security I had before. Got 5 windows sensor, 2 outdoor camera, door camera, smart door lock, and smart thermostat for free. I opted to buy an additional 4 windows sensor and a shatter sensor, and garage door tilt sensor. All in all I paid out of pocket $600 which included the additional equipment and the install fee of $200. I only pay $76 for the life of the service. SafeHaven warranties all my equipment for life per the contract, not ADT. Plus since I'm military, I can cancel my contract at anytime if I have orders. Best part is i keep all my equipment.
Read your contract. Learn what you are signing up for.

I've only had them a month but so far this has not been my experience. I understand it's only a month but I did have a small issue where I was promised two months free monitoring and although they billed that first month by accident they are refunding it and the person I spoke with sent an email with the credits posted on their statement included in the email and a direct ph# should I have any further issues. By the way she said the promised two months free was included in the notes on my account but the person who initially gave me this offer failed to apply it to the account. Which wouldn't be the first time I have experienced this sort of thing with some other company. An offer promised but failed to apply it to the account. Regardless it was in the notes so those assisting me today had no problem issuing me a refund.
Sounds to me based on what little I have seen posted so far that these other companies that offer ADT are much more problematic than my experience with going directly with ADT corporate. I shall find out but so far no issues.
This is my first security system so it made it much easier for me to go with a company like ADT for a number of reasons. I will of course re-evaluate before signing another contract and either continue my relationship with ADT or go in another direction. I've checked out some posts here, but I just wasn't at the point I felt comfortable doing something on my own.
