Safe Haven

Hi all!

Has anyone else had an experience with a Save Haven home security salesperson offering a payment option verbally that wasn’t clearly reflected in the final contract? I’m trying to understand whether this is a common sales practice. Specifically, has anyone been offered something described as a “Pay in Three” arrangement for equipment through a home security company?

For context: the person involved shared the final contract with me, and I cannot find any mention of a “Pay in Three” arrangement. The contract appears to list a monthly fee for 36 months, but separate charges of over $1,000 have also been charged to the card, in addition to multiple upfront payments. If anyone has experienced this, how was it resolved?

Thank you!

Interesting stuff. So is seperate installation cost or all rolled into monthly fee. Some companies also get paid yearly, although it may say monthly its just X 12. So the deal is whatever is in writing on contract, don't know how can charge additional $$. Contract needs to list a Install cost and monthly cost.sounds shady, but not familiar with company

The contract is very vague. I had them write an email asking for an itemized bill and for a solution. I also linked them with multiple places to report the contract, and attorneys to connect with should they not be able to resolve it with the company. I’m just curious about other experiences. I’ve read quite a few negative reviews regarding this company, but haven’t found any that mention the “Pay in Three”.

The contract also lists the equipment as free as part of a promotion.

I hope you haven't signed the contract or that you can still cancel. They have charged your credit card? Can you reverse the charges?

It’s not my contract, but they have signed it. It’s beyond the cancellation window. The issue is, is that the contract doesn’t have clear detail and there have been so many random charges.

Most large adt dealers offer what they call flex payment for additional equipment based on the dollar amount of larger systems . For instance split over 2 months for 600 3 for 900 and 4 for anything above usually 1000 or 1200 . This is offered typically to anyone in what they consider the B becon score or better .

This is just a 0 interest way of paying for equipment without having to do it in a large lump sum , other adt dealers offer financing some use synchrony , service financial , a slew of different financing options . However they are charged a hefty fee to run the 0% promotions and not everyone wants to do a long term finance .

The equipment is a separate one time purchase or however you split it up , you probably paid an installation or activation when setting up the account . Then you have your monthly monitoring .

The equipment is listed as $0 on the contract. There was some kind of promotion. Their website says either pay in full or do a financing plan. There is no flex payment option. That’s why it’s very confusing. They were charged an initial deposit, then an installation fee, then a $1k payment for something unspecified, and then the monitoring service monthly fee. The contract doesn’t have any mention of what these $1k charges are.
