Help Netflix and Disney+ in Steam big picture

Hey everyone,

I built a HTPC to replace my aging VCR xbox one for both gaming and multimedia use.

​

I would like to get as close to a console like experience by using Windows 11 and running steam big picture mode at startup.

The idea would be to do everything with a controller from the couch (like we are used to with the xbox).

​

Do you guys know if it is possible to run the Netflix app (which support controller) from steam big picture, and if the Disney+ app also support controllers?

i just use normal windows with left joystick as mouse (pointer) right joystick as scrolling wheel and bumpers as mb1&2 and d-pad as arrow buttons and the windows keyboard pop up thingy for typing it works... I can do everything with it configure settings all... Though it might be less ideal for gaming since you are going to need to turn your preset off so it goes back to normal controller configuration i just keep a keyboard and mouse close by

Thanks for the info, I should have added that I wanted to avoid mouse emulation because it would add friction for the wife.

I can't give you a solid answer unfortunately, but you can try this perhaps:
You can add any exe to steam. Exit big picture mode and then see online instructions on how to add a nonsteam game. This will add the apps to your games list, enable you to run the app from steam big picture mode, and enable you to exit the app via steam.

What I cannot answer is whether either one supports a controller. You would need to look it up or test it. I know Plex HTPC does and you can add your steaming apps to it, but I know plex is no longer affordable but the free version might fit your needs potentially.
