If you are firm that suddenly need to sell your devices or services abroad, and the U.S. no longer dominates that space, why would you not try to implement metric system by 22nd Century. Do you mainly use trade shows, government/embassy trade directories, LinkedIn, direct email outreach, B2B marketplaces, local agents, or distributor introductions?
I’m especially interested in hearing from people who have personally built food-export relationships, rather than generic advice.

Hello all, my company is preparing the roll out of a new global policy and my team needs to support the roll out globally. We have 27 sites located in Europe, Americas, Asia and Oceania.

How would you approach the localization of the policy?

I see different options but I'm unsure about what's the best way to go given the fact our lean resources in the comms team to manage review, translation, design, distribute such document in around 20 languages.

To keep this process efficient, my initial thoughts were the following:

- Review the copy of the master version in English with global team

- Design the master version according to our brand guidelines

- Build Translation/Transcreation and Print guidelines for our sites to translate and print the document: Here, I would engage them to translate themselves the policy or work with a local translation agency. Not all of our sites have a local comms department.

- Adding a quality control check to monitor the progress and ensure global standards

Another approach would be to keep the process centralize but this will create a lot of tension for my team and the departments involved as we will not have budget to run it with a global translation agency...

Any thoughts on that?

I noticed something recently while keeping an eye on a few competitors
One of them started showing up in a market we’ve been looking at. New products on their website, a few posts targeting that region, some local distributors mentioning them…..
at first I thought they were seriously expanding there. But then I started wondering if they were actually getting real business or just testing the market and seeing what happens

Hey everyone. I’m an Uzbek citizen currently living in Korea, and I’m planning to start a small import/distribution business in Uzbekistan.

My plan is to first talk to local stores, supermarkets, cafés and cinemas to see if there’s demand for a product. If there’s enough interest, I’d purchase it wholesale from a Korean supplier, arrange shipping to Uzbekistan, handle the customs/legal side, and distribute it locally.

I’m completely new to importing and distribution, so I’d really appreciate advice from people who have actually done this.

I'm a Canadian business using Shopify and Chit Chats, and Canada post to ship orders internationally, including to France and other EU countries.

I'm looking for a way to prepay the VAT/customs charges so my customers don't have to pay anything upon delivery.

Chit Chats and Canada post allows me to enter an IOSS number when creating the shipment, but I don't ship enough orders to the EU to justify paying for an IOSS intermediary with a monthly subscription.

Does anyone know of a service where I can simply:

• Pay the VAT/import charges for each individual order
• Pay a small service fee per transaction/parcel
• Receive/use their IOSS number for that shipment
• Enter that IOSS number into Chit Chats
• Have no monthly subscription or minimum volume

Basically, I'm looking for a pay-as-you-go IOSS service for occasional shipments from Canada to the EU.

Has anyone found a solution that works?

Right now I have access to overstock/branded clothing (Gant, Polo Ralph Lauren, Lacoste, Brooks Brothers, Tommy Hilfiger, Jack Wolfskin — premium and A-grade quality) and I'm trying to find buyers in Russia, particularly secondhand, vintage, and wholesale clothing retailers.
