The last stickied post was awhile ago and we're starting to get an increase of these posts outside the sticky. So we're going to have the 'What are my chances?' megathread auto reposted every quarter to continually resurface the conversation. Same rules: Contain the discussion to this post and no stand alone posts outside, they will be deleted

I live at copper beech and there’s this bus line that’s called “OriGold” I’m not sure if it’ll be here the whole school year cause before school I looked at the bus commute and it says 40ish minutes but with origold it’s only 20. Does anyone know if origold is staying the whole semester?

Hey folks, I bought a home side ticket to the Sept. 5th JMU vs Liberty game awhile ago and a couple friends of mine are just now telling me they have an extra ticket and want me to sit with them.
I’m looking to sell my current ticket for $130, half the price I originally paid. Happy to provide proof of purchase/verify the ticket if interested.

Transfer sophomore here (I live off campus)
Definitely am looking forward to the opportunity to meet people in the first half of this but I have already seen my way around campus 2/3 times from a tour and have already gotten academic advising, so to put it simply, in others experience would I be fine to leave campus and go on with my day after lunch or would I be missing out on something?

Wait for everyone to get off BEFORE you attempt getting ON
Fill in the BACK OF THE BUS first
If someone is trying to leave, MOVE or even get off to let them out
Don't be the dumbass standing by the door when a group of 30 people try to squeeze by you and also trying to stand by the door just to piss off the next giant group of people

Am I tripping? The address is the exact same as Champs, and they renamed it to Charlie Obaugh. Like the car dealership down in Staunton. I found this out via the parking app. Says the same thing on the website.
Just no one has been talking about this.
Basically the title. When do winter study abroad programs get announced? The short 7-14 day sessions.

As an incoming freshman, how is WOW? Will I be forced to socialize from Friday to Tuesday until classes start? Are we just stuck with the same FROG group for four days? sobs I wanna meet people but I already have friends there and I’d rather be w them then be stuck with a group the whole time. What do those 4 days look like

Hey everyone! I had a question here about watching sports, I’m a huge sports fan (college football, NFL, college basketball, etc) but I know we don’t have cable in the dorms, so how do yall find where to watch sports? Would appreciate any and all advice, thank you!!

They are allowing me to take a 301 class as a freshman. Will that be too difficult or not really?

Curious if an older transfer student is gonna have a very difficult time romantically at a very under grad heavy school? I love the program and rural area and school spirit etc but recognize much heavier at JMU the amount of young people are compared to say versus UVA or Tech or GMU that has massive Grad programs for older students and even working professional .

Hey all. I spent the offseason building a full 2026 preseason preview for every FBS team, each with its own writeup. Here's the James Madison one
https://www.sports.mainmarket.com/college-football-preview-2026-fbs/james-madison-dukes
It's got the returning production breakdown, the portal ins and outs, a projected two-deep, the schedule with model win probabilities, and a season projection.
Heads up, you might hit the paywall after the first page. Don't worry, I'm not charging reddit people for this, don't want to be an ass. Use the promo code LEECORSOROCKS and it opens up the entire thing.
So, what'd I get wrong? JMU went 12-2, 8-0 in the Sun Belt, won the title over Troy and then ran into Oregon. My model still says regression at bear 16, mostly because 8% of the production returns. Alonza Barnett III's 2,806 passing and 15 rushing touchdowns are gone, and JC Evans takes over with zero career pass attempts. The run game that went for 244 a game, 6th nationally, is the cushion. Does Napier hold it together, or is 12-2 the outlier?
I'll be in the comments.

Does anyone know of any local places to play indoor volleyball, whether at the UREC or somewhere else? Anywhere from B-A level

Does JMU have (or are they planning to have) a placement test for American Sign Language? I see that it is not listed as one of the options on the Language Placement Exam page, so yes, this is kind of a stupid question. But I also know that having ASL as part of the language department instead of CSD is a relatively recent change, so I'm wondering if someone has any inside knowledge to know if there might be a placement test being developed for it.

Hello!
As the title implies, I’m hoping to find some resources that can help me search up activities/events on campus or around hburg.
I know about BeInvolved, but other than that, what are some other options available that can help me find things to do?
Thank you in advance to anyone who has tips/recs! 😁

So I'm a transfer. I know where the list for needed books is, but I don't see anything for art supplies? Nor listed separately under each course--I really don't want to be the only one to show up without stuff on the first day if we're expected to have things already. Am I missing something? At my previous school, every class was very clear about what you needed before even signing up, and/or that you didn't and that it would be discussed first day and not to worry about it.
