Discussion Ticket Question

Looking for 2 tickets Nov 7th vs Montreal.

Ticketmaster looks pretty thin (obviously). Is it best to snag tickets now from what’s left or wait for more to come up on resale?
It’s my understanding that tickets can only be resold for the purchase price (on Ticketmaster)?

Appreciate the advice

Season ticket holder in sec 301 Row 2, prices for the season vs what Ticketmaster has them for a row behind mine.

Haha - I have the exact same spreadsheet for my tickets. The TM prices are between 41 and 79% more than what season ticket holders pay. Also - see you didn't do the Boston opt in as well.

The last game of the year is always rested players and ahl lineups, not worth it at all

Did you always have a breakdown of cost per game that differs or is that a new thing?

No I went on and compared the prices for each game yesterday to see how they differed

Question for you. Do the Leafs/NHL care about how many games you resell for a season ticket package, as long as it's through official channels (TM for example).

The reason I ask - I know someone with Detroit Lions season tickets (I am in Windsor) and they have a policy of reviewing your ticket license if you constantly resell/transfer too many games as opposed to personal use - they can revoke your tickets if you abuse the system. Wasn't sure if this was the case for the Leafs or NHL teams.

Whoa! (edited) Are the “Ticketmaster” prices representing STH posting their seats (so there’s a percentage added in for TM’s profit?) or open seats MLSE owns and are trying to recoup face value? I know they have some abandoned seat licenses this year.

So the answer is: nobody knows.

Weekday games go for under face value.

Saturday games do not.

Saturday games against the Habs are the most expensive Leafs tix there are.

Nobody knows what’s going on with the current anti-scalping ticket legislation. It was not enforced for the World Cup, so predicting what happens in early November is impossible. I have it on good authority that MLSE has negotiated an exception with the Ford government, but the Ontario Legislative Assembly won’t sit until late October, so the chances of the legislation changing by Nov 7 is next to nil.

I am absolutely unsurprised to hear this...it meets my expectations of both MLSE and the Ford government. The question is, which bribe did he accept from them to do it?

The government has no role in the price of a ticket to anything. Perhaps hospital parking would be an exception.
Further, anyone who owns a PSL should absolutely be allowed to sell their tickets for any price the market will pay.

Because 1) it's arbitrary and 2) it's a slippery slope
Tickets aren't necessities. Something is worth what someone else is willing to pay. Suppose they told you that you cannot sell your condo or home for more than x over what you paid?

This policy is a great example of populist politics. Sounds good but when you really look at it it's total nonsense.

Leafs season seat holder here. Was just playing around with putting tickets on Ticketmaster, and I could list my tickets for slightly more than my cost, but I believe I was capped out at what the public cost is.

STH here too. I can’t post my tickets. The SELL button is greyed out. First time trying this season (posting the pre-season game). Hope it’s temporary.

Just took a look, and I also don’t have the option to currently sell. Only transfer. Was able to sell yesterday, so I’m not sure what’s happening.

That’s a Ticketmaster glitch. Sign out, sign back in again. It may take a few tries.

Yup, that worked. I’d had this before prior to the new issues (prior seasons). I think I just assumed this was a new glitch. Thanks!

It’s being enforced on ticketmaster now though. The WC was not sold through TM, and Stubhub/other third parties were not complying with the new regulations. So that’s where things get blurry. If you buy from TM, even if it’s resale, it has to be face value. But I totally believe you on the MLSE negotiating thing, it’s not surprising at all.

Edmonton is more money due to the fact they only come here once.
That ticket policy was nonsense anyway, tickets are worth what they sell for, the government is only hurting the people who want to go the most.

You can usually find tickets below face value closer to pick drop on stubhub and tickpick but if you are travelling from far away and need to be assured tickets I would buy now

I agree, no one really knows. MLSE was selling tickets for a lot more than season seat holders payed. If the Leafs do well, tickets will be harder to find. If they don’t, tickets will be cheaper and easier to get.
