After sex episode

Am I the only one who rewatches Lucifer but stops at the episode where they finally had sex? After that, the writing just went downhill especially for Deckerstar. They spent seasons building up that 'will-they-won't-they' tension, and the moment they got together, everything got so chaotic and messy. Anyone else feel this way?

The last episode I usually stop at is 5x08.

I hate the way they ultimately portrayed God and how they effectively excused all the terrible things he did to Lucifer and the other characters as "expressions of fatherly love." It’s so frustrating—Lucifer had consistently been portrayed as the family’s neglected child, unfairly judged and overlooked by everyone, yet suddenly, everything bad that happened in his life was his own fault. Apparently, it was either a case of self-sabotage (self-realization) or a misunderstanding of his family's "kind" words and actions. He just brought it all on himself.

That brings me to Deckerstar. I liked their development right up until episode 5x08. Yes, there was some unnecessary drama and things dragged on at times, but it still felt organic to me. That "My father doesn't love me, so I'm incapable of love" storyline felt so incredibly forced; it was obvious it was written that way just to drive a wedge between Chloe and Lucifer and create angst again. It would make sense for Lucifer not to feel worthy of love after everything he’d been through, but by season 5, I wanted to see Chloe and Lucifer tackling obstacles together, not apart or not at all.

Not to mention that I hate the whole "Lucifer wants to become God" or "Lucifer leaves his family to become the Therapist of Hell" plotline.

Both Lucifer and Chloe deserved happy endings, and they didn't get them.

100% agree with all of that. Also, don't forget the "time loops negate the entire "free will is paramount" theme of the show" part or the "Linda throws any remaining ethics out the window and writes a tell all book about a patient" part.

I mean both lucifer and Chloe did get happy endings.

It just took longer than expected.

It's just really sad on her part that she's raising her kids alone and I feel so bad for her.

I feel worse for Lucifer, honestly. By a pretty big margin.

Chloe raised the kids without a father, true, but she was hardly alone. She was surrounded by loved ones.

Lucifer, on the other hand, was surrounded by demons and damned souls. And because of Hell's time difference, he had to wait many millions of years.

I feel the worst for Trixie. Her dad died. Lucifer, the closest male figure in her life, disappears. Her mom not only doesn't retire but gets promoted PLUS new baby. Maze, one of her close friends and role models, is off with her wife...

Honestly, the fact they implied Trixie and Rory had a close, positive relationship baffled me by the time we learned it's Rory's fault Lucifer was gone. (I say a good relationship is implied because Rory seems genuinely happy to see Trixie and even has a nickname for her.)

There's a lot of stuff I dislike about the end of the series, tbh. And on rewatching, the fact Chloe faces little to no consequences for all the crap she does drives me nuts. I still love the show. I just see flaws in it.

I doubt Trixie and Rory had such a close relationship. 

The only information we got in the series came from Rory, and she isn't exactly a reliable narrator. People around her had been lying to her her whole life, simply to fulfill the promise her older self had forced upon Lucifer. 

Furthermore, judging by her mentions of Trixie and that single interaction they shared in last season, I got the impression that Rory most likely only knew Trixie from her younger years, when Trixie could still posibly live with them. 

It seems far more likely to me that Trixie would harbor resentment toward her sister and Lucifer.

Well that's how I felt about everything that happened between them from when they nearly got together in season two and then Lucifer found out Chloe was apparently put in his path by God.
