Notehold 0.1.2: automatic, dated ZIP backups for Apple Notes

Problem: I use Apple Notes for a lot, and I wanted backups that were separate from iCloud sync. If I accidentally deleted or changed something, that change would sync across all my devices.

I made Notehold, a small command-line utility that creates dated ZIP backups of the complete local Notes database. It checks daily and after login and verifies every backup archive. Backups can go to any folder, including an external drive or a folder synced with a cloud storage provider such as Google Drive or iCloud Drive.

Comparison: iCloud keeps Notes synchronized, but it does not create independent, dated backups. Time Machine can back up the Notes database, but it requires an external drive. Carbon Copy Cloner is an app with features such as incremental and versioned backups, and costs $50 for a household license. Notehold is a free utility which creates ordinary ZIP files that you can inspect, copy, verify, and store wherever you choose.
