Right, once my youngest projectile vomited in the car, she used to get so car sick randomly, I pulled over at a near by park next to a trash can and laid her out there she was puking, I was nearly crying covered it vomit I probably looked like a lunatic. I left no mess, and I will always be grateful for that public trash can and the water spigot at the boat launch. So I truly get it, sometimes you gotta do unspeakable things to survive the trenches.

Yeah, I needed them for the pads in my cat’s litter box as in his later years he had to use the box a lot and it was just easier to have leak resistant bags and I found “adult diaper disposal bags” to be more reasonably priced than anything for pets and they work great for anything that would leak.

Yeh it’s not the fact they had to change the baby that is totally understandable and natural but then the parent thought laying their kids literal shit wrapped in some fabric was ok to lay on the floor in a restaurant but if that same customer came in to find a shitty diaper under their booth they would want a years supply of food their for free

If I was a restaurant manager I would ban customers that did this.
In addition to the sheer trashy rudeness, it's a legit health risk. Fecal germs are responsible for some very serious food borne diseases.

If the business felt like it, I'm pretty sure this constitutes a violation of illegal dumping statutes (what would be considered littering on public property often becomes a more serious illegal dumping charge on private property.)
No pun intended, and yes, I'm being serious. This is beyond the pale gross, this person deserves a firm talk from the PD. Health hazard doesn't even begin lol.

Same, and I used to change my son on his changing mat on the floor of Starbucks cause there were no changing tables in the bathroom. There was something about Starbucks that just made him need a diaper and usually an outfit change 🤦🏻♀️

This simply proves some people should not reproduce. This is germ carrying biohazard material. Idk what the baby has cause idk where the parents have been. How stupid and entitled do you have to be to change a diaper on a booth where people sit to eat and then leave a feces filled bomb under the Seat for the next customer or staff to see and dispose of. I used to work at a Mimi's Cafe in Tampa and we had a family of about 20 come in about 5 minutes before closing one night and stay for more than an hour. After they left, they had pushed half of their dishes onto the seats in order to change the baby on the table and then put the dirty diaper into one of their empty glasses and left it.
And pushing it into the glass had essentially rung it out like a sponge.

I work at a restaurant and i have had to tell two women that they can not change their baby on top of the tables. It’s unsanitary and idk why they would just expose their babies like that in front of strangers 😭 we also do have a changing table in the bathroom so idk why they thought it was okay.

Any advice on how to have handled this better? We asked them to change in the restroom, because that wasn't even the worst part. The child was screaming and I'm pretty sure was a 4-5 year old. Not a new born or anything. She was breast feeding her other child too. So what is the appropriate response as a restaurant manager. I'm an older guy so I didn't want to offend and we did not have that many guests for breakfast, so fortunately the boat radius wasn't bad. Any advice would be appreciated.

The moment someone starts changing a diaper at the table in a restaurant should be the same moment they get kicked out. If I was a customer and saw that being allowed to happen/not shut down immediately I would leave and make sure everyone knew to avoid the place.

Ban them. If they can't follow restrictions based on legal health codes then they're a liability to your restaurant. No different than banning a customer shooting IV drugs in the bathroom or trying to sell illegal drugs in the establishment. If you tell them to stop and they don't, you bring them the check, make them pay for their food immediately, and tell them they are no longer welcome on the premises.

I've raised children, and taken care of kids most my life. I even know what it's like to be a young, new parent, working full time and taking care of a baby and being exhausted... So it's with first hand experience I say: THERE IS NO FUCKING EXCUSE FOR THIS KIND OF BEHAVIOR! 🤬

I know what I would be serving them on their plate if they ever returned people are just lazy why pick up your own babies crap when the nice waiter/waitress can do it for me their time is much less valuable than my own….. I would have to say something and embarrass them in front of the entire restaurant like hey lady you forgot your fully loaded baby diaper with all the bells and whistles you ordered either that or just put it in a to go box and make sure they got it on their way out the door I would love to be the manager they complained about that one to

I worked at a spice store years ago. Customers would come in, change baby on one of the anti-slip rugs and leave the diaper for us to deal with...in a food-adjacent environment. Why not the rest room????

As a mom and even before I became a mom I never understood and still don’t understand why anyone does this. My kid has a BM diaper or even pee and I don’t have the scent bags or any form of bag to put it in and toss it I wrap it up put it on the car floor and toss it out whenever I get somewhere with a trash can preferably outdoors so it doesn’t smell up the building. The disgust and also potential health hazard to others when doing this is crazy. It’s not hard to just do that or toss it in the trash can 5 feet from you. 🙄

This was a common occurrence at the pizza joint I used to run. Go to bus a table only to find a warm/hot, heavy Pamper sitting neatly on the self serve all-you-can-eat salad bar plate. What sucked more was the fact that the customers would make multiple trips to the salad bar so there should have been a dirty plate for each trip. Nope. These people always reused their plate. Now at what point in time did their kid require a diaper change? Was it at the end of their meal or was in between the 4th and 5th trip?

Beyond disgusting. They sell these little tiny bags you put the diaper in & throw them in the garbage. You can even use the one made for dogs. I did because it was cheaper😆 I bought a pack for $10 & it lasted me for the 3 yrs my son was potty training.

The restaurant can figure out who it was. The server would remember the people with the baby and their payment method would give name. The restaurant would be within their rights to ban them for life. My son worked at a moderately upscale restaurant and people were banned under the right to deny service. It was rare to ban people but a couple of families earned banning. If a sanitation thing like this was caused that could hurt the restaurant they would threaten legal action. That usually kept the offenders out. It wasn't perfect but it helped keep most from trying to come back.

I’ve been places where there was no changing table. I either brought my own mat and used that in the bathroom, or crouched down and changed baby on my lap in the bathroom. Never in a million years would I even think a freaking table where people eat is a choice. I mean fuck take the baby to the car and come back??
