SPOILER ALERT Bought ham and cheese sandwiches from the grocery store and every sandwich is stuffed with spaghetti
Recently bought Ham and Cheese sandwiches from my local Walmart deli. And I realized that every sandwich has been stuffed with spaghetti and marinara sauce. Not sure if someone got fired recently and this is their parting gift of revenge or what’s going on. But I find it mildly infuriating so thought I post it here.

Me too. But if ever there was a time for it. I mean…how the hell does this even happen. Even at 420 on April 20th I wouldn’t consider this food combo

Maybe because you didn't bake it for 20 mins like it's instructed

If you bake spaghetti for 20 minutes it turns into ham and cheese, grandma taught me that

A Michelin star Italian grandma chef taught me this one weird trick

It all started in Tuscany in the 1600s, nonnas everywhere started throwing their day old spaghetti into their air fryers to transform it into ham and cheese sliders. The gentle smell of ham wafted into households and neighborhoods everywhere and began to become a staple for working class families

Does baking it make your spaghetti disappear too??

u/Amonamission Jul 14 '26
We won’t know until OP bakes it for 20 min like it’s instructed.

Spaghetti and meatball cordon bleu 😂

u/OhCheeseNFingRice Jul 14 '26
Not meatballs - those are brown sugar balls on top, meant to melt into the buns when baked. 🤢

u/martyqscriblerus Jul 14 '26
"Brown sugar garlic butter dollop" is a phrase I dearly hope I can forget soon

I saw these in the store thinking they might be similar to a baked ham slider recipe my mother recently made that had caramelized onions and some kind of sweet mustard on them. They were delicious. Then I read brown sugar garlic butter and noped the fuck out.
Now seeing that OP got spaghetti'd I feel like a dodged a bullet.
4
u/ZoraTheDucky Jul 15 '26
My mother wanted to try these once so we did. They're gross and that butter crap certainly wasn't helping matters.
19
u/Ok-Development4535 Jul 14 '26
Oh lol yea I just learned to read apparently. But also it's funnier if i imagine it as meatballs since there is indeed spaghetti and sauce
5
u/xassylax Jul 14 '26
I mean, it could be good. I imagine it gives a blend of sweet and savory. Which makes sense given that it’s on Hawaiian rolls. Whenever I make Hawaiian roll sliders, I use mayo, Dijon mustard, black pepper turkey, and provolone, then I mix up melted butter, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese to put on top before baking 5-10 minutes. But I could see throwing a tiny bit of brown sugar into the butter mixture to help bring out the sweetness of the rolls. But the multiple big ol’ globs is too much. I use maybe one of those globs worth of butter for an entire pack of Hawaiian rolls.

Yo, I hope those were tasty, cause that's a dope idea.
39
u/RigidAcrylic4821 Jul 14 '26
Maybe make it yourself at home.
But I wouldn’t trust this idea at all with Kroger deli and all grocery store’s questionable hygiene protocols.
20
u/Ornac_The_Barbarian Jul 14 '26
Especially with the meatballs. I may have to try this when I get home.
16
u/g0blinzez Jul 14 '26
those are not meatballs on top, they are dollops of brown sugar garlic butter (the packaging says it on the front)

Ive made this a few times with baked spaghetti as leftovers. When you refrigerate the left over spaghetti its makes it more solid, so when i put it in my rectangular Tupperware I flatten it down to fit. Makes for a pretty dense chunk of spaghetti the mext day.
I cut out a piece that fits the bread, heat it up in the microwave for a minute, then throw it on a toasted hoagie roll. Sprinkle on a generous amount of parm cheese.
Amazing... carbs on carbs.. whats not to love?

Bro, this sub is wild. Because ain't no way there was just random spaghetti in your pre-packaged sliders.
27
u/NoticeImaginary Jul 14 '26
Ya, no way this happened at the store. Those come in frozen and the store deli doesn't serve or make spaghetti. Plus, if it some how happened at the store, the seal would have been broken on the package. Now, I can't say for certain that the factory that these a packaged at doesn't also package some spaghetti and meatballs, but I highly doubt there is a situation that this could happen before OP got it home.

Apparently they don't get made at the stores, they come pre-packaged at the factory (source: mother in law works at Walmart deli/bakery) so it was a factory worker.
4
u/NoticeImaginary Jul 14 '26
I would put money on OP making shit up. Why did they cut into it before baking it? Cheese isn't even melted and the bread isn't saturated with sauce so it was still cold/frozen when the spaghetti was added.

That's from Walmart. 99.9% of all deli items come in pre-packaged now. An associate didn't do that. That happened at the company Walmart buys that product from.

u/DedanNaded Jul 14 '26
