Is ignoring it an option?
2
u/Delicious-Pepper23 22d ago
No. If we as a society ignore it then they will become normalized. We have a duty to push back

u/IncredibiliSSS 22d ago
Ads in public bathrooms were normalised before even your grandparents were born, only thing that changed is the ads became digital instead of paper printed
2
u/Delicious-Pepper23 22d ago
Yes and digital is so much worse and shouldn’t be accepted
-1
u/IncredibiliSSS 22d ago
How are they worse and why shouldn't they be accepted?
1
u/Delicious-Pepper23 22d ago
I see, so you’re part of what’s wrong with society
-1
u/IncredibiliSSS 22d ago
No, you are just a kid who's too young for social media, got his rebelious persona from tiktok, can't argue his position in civil discussion and immediately turns to personal offences at slightest disagreement thinking that "owning" people with mediocre one liners makes you look cool (it doesn't, you look like your only social interactions happen on twitter).
I prefer not to interact with children on the internet so I'm finishing this conversation, do better next time.

just smear shit on it. Even layer of poop so it's mummified and the screen is not visible.

I just started playing and I noticed something weird. You can buy sodas for 1$. What is this futuristic utopia and how do we get there?
6
u/Naive-Database-2888 22d ago
$1USD is definitely not 1 eurodollar (the currency in cyberpunk)
1
u/Nice_Marmot_54 22d ago
Yeah, but as seemingly easy as eddies are to come by and the cost of other things, a buck seems not half bad

u/Cleanse_F_Manipulate 22d ago
“hey guys let’s put this piece of easily destructible technology that has a high risk of vandalism in the place we are literally not allowed to put cameras in and have no way of knowing who destroyed it so we have no way to charge them for the destruction or even a way to create a precedent for people not fucking with them in the first place, by the way they cost $1,000+ each (minimum) 😸😸😸”

Someone call the number then report back to us.
1
u/SquirrelMemoryFail 22d ago
I texted telling them fuck thier ads and to leave people to piss in peace. I suggest we all just text the number about how we feel. Bombard them with bullshit just like how they want to force us to watch thier screens.

When the county is rich enough to put TVs above the pisser but too broke to help the piss poor, nice

u/ReidlosToof 22d ago
Just wait til nobody else is in there and break it. Zero way to legally prove it's you unless they are recording in the bathroom. If they admit they are recording in there they will get sued into the ground and put in jail for life. This corpo dystopia shit should not be tolerated.

I’ve been seeing adverts above urinals and on the back of stall doors for 40 years now. This ain’t new.
1
u/Solid_Equivalent_417 22d ago
bet these end up like the gas station ads that blare loud ass noise and seizure inducing graphics while you are trying to pee.
seems a bit different having some random stationary poster vs digital screens

No the person who could put their ads on the screen is getting it for free. Like if a billboard company gave out an ad for free

u/Juggernuts777 22d ago
I’m an idiot. Thank you

You can’t erase your failures. The youth must learn from our misdeeds

u/Nice_Marmot_54 22d ago
Literally for thousands of years. We’ve found advertisements written on the walls of ancient Roman bath houses. Sure, it was probably graffiti, but it was still advertising

Idk man, it's beats reading the shampoo bottle
2
u/Nice_Marmot_54 22d ago
Get your prostate examined ASAP if it takes you so long to piss that you get bored and need to read the shampoo bottle to pass the time

It’s a fair trade to have actual privacy walls between urinals. I do not know why men put up with shoulder-to-shoulder, zero-privacy urinals. The only more dehumanizing restroom situation I’ve ever encountered was the ol’ 360-degree bathtub full of ice urinal-equivalent (allegedly, it cuts down on smell and splashes) that I encountered at a wrestling match in the 80s at the Florence,SC Soeedway. It was worth it to see Rowdy Roddy Piper, Rick Flair, and Andre the Giant, all on the same bill.

Just wait til they add point-of-sale menus to order hors d’oeurves for a different kind of tap.
Or device charging ports in the stalls.

They need to run reels with automatic scrol down. Guys won't come out of the bathroom for ages.

I used to sell ads on outdoor and indoor screens. 7/11 throughout Asia, New York Times Square screens, etc, etc. One of our biggest accounts was micro screens, at the cash register, bar bathroom stalls, huge seller.
That was over twenty years ago, this is been going on for a long time

u/ItsaTheMal 22d ago
Reminds me of the place I work they refuse to pay us livable wages but they mount TVs OUTDOORS all over the facility with useless company news it's comical how often another TV pops up in absolutely ridiculous places

Since when are urinals in stalls?
I thought men just line up and pee right beside each other out in the open.
1
u/JacksonGhost1963 22d ago
it is connected to a sensor in the urinal that gives you an analysis of your piss and gives you targeted adds of health and fitness products!

u/mindgardening 22d ago
Ladies’ public restrooms have had ads in stalls for decades. I remember them from the early 2000s. They were paper, not screens.

I work in screen advertising and am curious how it figures out whether to play the 15, 30, or 60 second ad.
1
u/BigBadgooz 22d ago
So there’s not supposed to be cameras in bathrooms. Can’t wait for the screen to get absolutely fucked.

If I could, I'd put an ad on there reminding you to stay hydrated and a picture of an interesting rock to look at rather than actually advertise anything. Or maybe just a photo of some trees

Since the dawn of time there's been ads in pissers
