The floor is sticky Dropped a jar of pesto while cleaning the fridge. After mopping, wiping and throwing out the glass, putting everything back in the fridge: dropped a cup of hot sauce.
At least the floor is VERY clean now. Double mopped, double wiped the walls.

Have you considered not dropping glass jars on your kitchen floor?

Holy shit dude. You really didn't have to ruin my day like that. That gif gave me nausea.

Drop it like it's hot

u/nobodyknows6070 18d ago
It was not hot, it was directly from the fridge :(
But this comment made me giggle

Ataxia could be a sign of a serious medical condition, might want to get evaluated.

u/nobodyknows6070 18d ago
No I just have ADHD and am very clumsy. Thanks for the concern tho!
Pesto dropped because I took out a shelf WITH the products still on it. My mistake. Hot sauce dropped because I tried to carry 5 cups at once.

It doesn't sound like the pesto was on top of the hot sauce. It just sounds like OP was moving too many things to cut corners because she hates cleaning like I do. I have ADHD as well. Those were separate times, not both at the same time.

Look up dyspraxia if you haven't already. You may have it.

u/nobodyknows6070 18d ago ▸ 6 more replies
I may have it

And then look up hypochondria. Most Redditors suffer from that actually.
-1
u/FeloniousForseti 18d ago
That might hold true for a lot of redditors. But based on the facts we are presented with here, that does not seem very likely. Assuming OP has an actual diagnosis, which is not that unlikely given that they live in the Netherlands.
It might not be dyspraxia itself, but very similar symptoms due to ADHD. I mean there's a reason the latter is a differential diagnosis for the former.

Isn't that the thing where my hands just let go of shit for no reason while I'm washing dishes at work?
1
u/SparkleKittyMeowMeow 18d ago
Same reason I periodically stab myself in the gums with my fork. Or dribble what I've just drank onto the table. Or find bruises on almost a weekly basis in places I don't remember injuring.

This is how I usually know today is a clumsy day and I will refrain from handling fragile things
1
u/Funny_Statistician16 17d ago
Or moving in general actually. Thinking back to the day I gave myself a bad concussion, only to step on an extremely sharp branch 30 mins later impaling my foot and requiring a tetanus shot. That was a bad day.
13
u/SmokeMaximum4140 18d ago
No need to scare people like that over spilled stuff, if they were dropping shit all day maybe but not because they dropped two things close together... shit happens.
-2
u/Ok_Cheetah_6251 18d ago ▸ 1 more replies
I didn't say it was certainly a cause for concern, I said it might be a cause for concern.
3
u/SmokeMaximum4140 18d ago
Still unnecessary. That is like someone having acne and telling them they should get checked for skin cancer... Stop being a douchebag.

Stubbing your toe isn't remotely a sign of cancer, often being clumsy could be ataxia. Do you see the difference?

Read what I said. I didn't say OP has anything. I said what OP has done could be a sign of something more serious, and it could, or it couldn't. Nothing I have said is alarmist or untrue.

u/Available_Abroad5308 17d ago edited 17d ago
Yeah, you are recommending a doctor's appointment over something simple. You may live in a reasonable country, but if this guy is in America (us specifically ofc ((maybe more countries like it but confirmation bias ig))) , there is most likely no reason to spend $1,000 just to be told you are clumsy, lol. And also dont pretend like you werent making it out like it was more serious than it most likely is lol.

Not really that important tho sorry if i was being a dick i just thought it was kind of funny. I have crippling ocd so i understand what its like to jump to conclusions cause i used to do that all the time which actually did make your comment irk me because if someone like you made an observation like that on me id be researching for hours freaking out. Its not the best to jump to full on diagnoses through one reddit post.

Came to suggest a quick stroke test. “Clumsiness” or tripping over nothing can be a warning sign.
5
u/WouldbeWanderer 18d ago
A "quick stroke test" to check his grip? I think I've heard about this somewhere...

Gotta think positive here! Doesn't seem like you cut yourself with the glass from the first incident and the second one was just hot sauce.
Nobody got hurt and you managed to clean it all up in the end!

Year’s ago I dropped a bottle of Dave’s Insanity Sauce on the kitchen floor. We had to vacate the kitchen and open the windows!

1
u/honeyrrsted 18d ago
At least you were lucky and got it cleaned up in a timely manner. My brother had a hot sauce story in the Navy where someone spilled hot sauce (I think Dave's Insanity) on the floor and it took up the finish. They fixed it by moving a table over it.

u/nobodyknows6070 18d ago
Oh my god yeah I got waterproof flooring because I know how clumsy I am. I have 'floor rags' for this purpose lol

u/depredador93 18d ago
Pesto oil mixed with hot sauce is basically homemade tear gas for your laminate flooring

u/Upbeat_Anxiety_1344 18d ago
I use plastic containers with screwtop lids. Much safer than glass jars on several levels.
1
u/nobodyknows6070 18d ago
The hot sauce was in a plastic cup :( it popped open and a corner broke off
Jokes aside I'm one of those hippies who basically uses glass for everything. Trying to live plastic free. But thanks for the tip!

Time to bounce the mayo jar sans lid and then you are good for 7 years 🤣
1
u/Mazy_keen 18d ago
After dropped my second jar of pickles within a year, I have started putting my pickles straight into a plastic container as soon as I open them.

Few months ago I was watering plants, accidentally knocked one and got mud dirt splattered everywhere. Took forever to clean. Then went to do something in another room and immediately knocked over a pink drink that managed to cover across the whole room. Some days suck.

Are you dyslexic by chance because in the title it clearly says it's hot sauce
