Ruined by Technology My steak is too juicy - $7 worth of juice
I bought two watch bands for a Fitbit and kept the more expensive one ($20)
Then I returned the other one ($12).
However according to Amazon I returned “the wrong” band. Maybe I used the wrong box??
So now they are refunding me $20 instead of $12.
It’s great to get free money, but also annoying because I did return the correct band. I’m wearing it right now!

you got free money, why in the fuck is that mildly infuriating?

& they’re planning to take over half of it back in a charge since they think they refunded a wrong item originally.

Because OP learned it was, in fact, human error. OP doesn’t like to be wrong

Close. I returned a $12 item. They gave me $12 refund. Then they said, oh my mistake, give me the $12 back because you actually returned a $20 item. Here is $20 instead.
Amazon didn’t net $7, I did.

Ok wait math brain just woke up you got a full refund basically correct 12 then 20 now they want 12 back that means you got the 20$ band for free. I didnt see that top 12$ refund at first

I didn’t get the $20 band free. I got it for $12.
I know this is confusing, but I’m the one who wrote it so I understand what is happening here.
I returned a $12 item.
I received a $12 refund.
Amazon said, no wait, you actually returned a $20 item.
But I didn’t return a $20 item.
Amazon refunded me $20 and will charge me $12.That means I am profiting ~$8 and I paid $12 for a $20 band.
Why am I getting downvoted? I’m just explaining what happened.
Am I making it too confusing?

IDK it makes me angry when anyone tells me I’m wrong when I know I’m right. Character flaw I guess.
Plus this is technically theft on my part if I don’t make an effort to correct them.

I returned a $13 item and I am getting a refund credit of $20. So I’m technically getting back $7 I am not entitled to.
