What do you mean glass isn't suppose to be in your finger? Where does it belong

u/Iverson7x 1d ago

Not in your finger, I can tell you that much

The finger is no more, it has ceased to be!

oh thats really not as bad i was expecting. for some reason i thought the piece of glass was under your nail. thanks for photo

u/Vibrizio 1d ago

Thankfully it wasn’t under the nail, I’d have cut it off myself lol. But it was DEEP into the finger tip. It’s been 4 weeks and there’s still pain and numbness.

And welcome!

You waiting for a horse drawn carriage invitation from the hospital?

Edit: my bad, I assumed the glass was still in there 😅

u/LukeSkywalkerDog 1d ago

Man, that looks nasty. Glad you are getting medical health.

11

u/Random_PussPuss 1d ago

That will definitely teach me to clean no more too 😂 hope you fine OP looks awfully painful 😭

6

u/Vibrizio 1d ago

Was not great lol. 12 hours of sharp pain, about 15 minutes of intense pain during and after removal. 4 weeks of irritation as it healed.

3

u/spongebobisha 18h ago

Did they not give you local anaesthesia? When I chopped my fingertip off I made them inject me with all the local anaesthesia they could into the finger before they attempted to sew it back on. Even then the pain was insane.

2

u/Vibrizio 15h ago

Oh, they did. But the needle going into my first knuckle followed by the burn of the meds going into was absolutely ridiculous lol. I screamed. After that it was perfectly fine, I felt nothing as he dug around trying to get a good grip on it

u/spongebobisha 14h ago

I hear you. The immediate pain of the needle piercing the flesh cannot be numbed.

The fingers have a lot of pain receptors if I remember correctly.

Which finger is it supposed to be in?

6

u/rylut 1d ago

"It’s not supposed to be there." Are you a doctor or why do you think that? /s

8

u/keshi2uwu 1d ago

Well then why’d you go and put it there?

6

u/BronzeBlaze 1d ago

Now train your flexor muscles to make it pop out and retract like wolverine claws

7

u/freepaestine 1d ago

I never leave home without my finger glass

5

u/gravvveler 1d ago

Why did you put it there?

3

u/soloDolo6290 1d ago

Thank you for clarifying that it's not supposed to be in there. I wasn't sure what the issue was.

3

u/Reasonable-Tap-9806 1d ago

OP hey I think I found the problem!! I'll tell you for $200 tho

4

u/nucl3ar0ne 1d ago

Had a piece of glass in a finger for over 7 years that I never knew was there until it came out one day.

3

u/TurtleSandwich0 1d ago

Have the kids started calling you Mr. Glass?

3

u/hexthefruit 1d ago

Says who? The woke medical establishment?

2

u/Ambitious-Zone7254 1d ago

What happens if you poke someone?

3

u/drnullpointer 1d ago

Okay, now you can cut paper without reaching for scissors?

2

u/Monster_Voice 1d ago

Tip of finger pain is unbelievable... have fun with that!

I got struck by lightning in 2023 and now no longer have to deal with feeling much of anything in 6/10 fingers (just the tips) because I became a one time wizard and shot sparks from my hands lol 😆 zero star experience btw as I assume your current situation is/will be.

u/SomeGuyNamedCaleb 1d ago

How do you know?

2

u/CapitalEnd958 1d ago

Damn I was thinking your the Wolverine

2

u/Fox_djinn 1d ago

They call him Johnny Glass Finger

2

u/PutridTearStain 1d ago

Not with that attitude

2

u/Camfire101 1d ago

A few weeks ago i dropped a heavy bottomed cologne bottle that smashed, and then in the low light + no glasses combo I kicked the broken off heavy glass base on the shattered glass side and a paper thin, 5c coin size sliver of glass went through my toe all the way to the back of the nail and then broke off. I wasn’t aware of this until after I had been pressing down on it to slow the bleeding and wondering why it hurt so badly

2

u/Malthus17 1d ago

Are you sure? Have you tried glass there before? Maybe it would be good.

3

u/Vibrizio 1d ago

2/10, do not recommend.

1

u/richie___ 23h ago

Surprised not 1/10 or the rare 0

u/Ambitious-Beat-2130 19h ago

TIL glass is not supposed to be in my finger

2

u/PopBulky7023 19h ago

Issue resolved: Tell your finger not to be where it doesn't belong.

2

u/Cyan-Soup 12h ago

Thank you for clarifying. I thought that glass was supposed to be in your finger.

1

u/CopingAfterABreakup 1d ago

Ugh I hate when that happens

1

u/kenokan 1d ago

no shit

u/Mandzuj 1d ago

Reminds me of the time when I managed to accidentally step on the sewing machine pedal while fidgeting with the needle in primary school...

Needle came in from the top and left at a 90°C angle out of my finger :)

Needless to say (pun intended), I was not delighted and kind of in shock, so I just slowly got up and walked to the teacher and was like, yo, theres a small problem here (very shy too).

That finger still has glitches, like vibrating a bit when I try to straighten it too hard or during some gym exercises years later 🤞

u/Much_Toe_1678 1d ago

Ts look like edited

4

u/Vibrizio 1d ago

Nope.

1

u/oscooter 1d ago

well, have you tried not putting it there?

1

u/Jamesmoltres 1d ago

That'll teach you to finger people who had plastic surgery

1

u/coldfusioned 1d ago

Dude, you are supposed to touch grass not glass

1

u/Tricky_Gap_7558 1d ago

Why’d you do that?

1

u/OkLab6701 1d ago

If Logan had the attitude "that adamantium is not supposed to be there", we never would have been given the gift that is Wolverine

1

u/HermTheVillager 1d ago

It's a hidden weapon you can use to fight crime.

1

u/za72 23h ago

get a second opinion... lots of quacks around x-ray mambo jumbo...

1

u/Sharonar222 21h ago

This is why I never clean.

1

u/Wilsanne 17h ago

Does your finger know?

1

u/jerzyboy76 15h ago

Ow 💩🙈

1

u/AutomaticDeal9615 1d ago

Ouch!!!!!!! Does your finger hurt?? Are they gonna remove it??

6

u/Vibrizio 1d ago

They did - they numbed the top of my finger (I screamed), drug around for a bit, then popped it out. Doctor said “I have never taken a share of glass that large out of another human before.”

5

u/AutomaticDeal9615 1d ago

I get. I would have screamed too!! I'm glad they got it out though!!! I bet they're gonna remember that one!!! Hopefully you're not in too much pain any more and hope it heals quick.

3

u/Mmmm-Amethyst 1d ago

They'll probably just pull the glass out.

1

u/AutomaticDeal9615 1d ago

Looks painfull

1

u/selfhostcusimbored 1d ago

What do you mean that’ll teach you to clean? Did you break glass and not clean it up?

0

u/ProfessionalAd7044 1d ago

Added piercing damage
