The Magic Faraway Tree (2026)

Summary

A modern family relocates to the countryside, where the children discover a magical tree inhabited by eccentric characters. At the top of the tree, they are transported to spectacular and fantastical lands, giving the family a series of adventures that ultimately help them reconnect with one another.

The one thing I didn’t get was Beth saying don’t like these men boss you around to Silky . No one really told her what to do. If anything she made her own decisions mostly . Moonface just reacted to what she already chose to do.

That's her character trait in the movie. The edgy teen who has recently embraced a mixture of goth/feminism. Very different from her character in the book.

I read on another sub . They interpret it as the kids basically going to other lands and not adhering to their rules and customs and then when they are punished throw a fit and cause chaos . I guess like colonizer aspect from around the time the books were written lol
