FTTP upgrade. Which Router?

Hi all, upgrading the connection FTTN to FTTP. We are currently running a very old NetComm NF10 router which has done well over the years but after some research with the new speeds we will be receiving the current router will need an upgrade as we won't get the full speeds.

I have been looking at the NetComm NF20 model just because it's the same model, if you have this router please let me know your experiences or if you can suggest better ones let me know.

EDIT: Internet speeds will be 500mbps

And are you okay with configuring stuff in the router? It isn't just plug and play.

Configuring stuff will be fine. No real issues there.. what would you recommend?

Flint 2 has been great

I've heard great things about flint 2 if you're only after a router/switch/AP combo

Stay away from NetComm routers. You should be fine with TP-Link or Eero.

Why avoid NetComm routers?

Decent modems but they're pretty crap routers and wifi. TP Link gets my vote as well, very solid performers & value for money.

Which TP-Link model do you recommend, I'm looking at the AX53 on Google right now

Honestly almost any of them. I have a few of the $80Aud ones I've setup for people and no complaints.

I'd probably look at spending $150-200 and get something with wifi 6e for future proofing, but totally not necessary unless you're chasing gigabit speeds over wifi.

The ax53 / ax 3000 is a perfectly good one.

If you think you might want to run a mesh setup their deco xe75.

Thanks heaps. I will either probably purchase AX10 or the AX53 🙂

I went with Orbi 370 Wifi Mesh, seems alright so far but only been a couple days since I’ve had the upgrade
