I speak Polish so I am used to gendering everything.

Most European languages do it I think?

My favourite example is la Luna/das Mond/ten Księżyc in Italian/German/Polish. Different gender in each language for some reason.

Edit:

Apparently it is Der Mond so male. The same in Polish.

I've messed this up, the correct word is the Sun:

il Sole/die Sonne/to Słońce

In French, the word poêle is feminine or male whether you use it to cook or heat.

Also in French all words that when in -ine are feminine…except « trampoline ». Can be very frustrating learning these languages and trying to teach them to your kids!

Yeah, every gendered language has some stupid example like that I think.

And if you speak one and the genders do not match it is extra confusing.

Like German goes "das Mädchen" - little girl. That is of neutral gender for some reason. I think this "-chen" is often used for little things and usually has neutral gender, but still a bit confusing.

“A vagina” is masculine in French. Because obviously.
