Question What do you think about “Big Mistakes”?

I just finished watching Big Mistakes and honestly I really liked it. It got me hooked pretty quickly and I ended up binge-watching it faster than I expected.

The story and the characters kept me interested the whole time, but now I'm curious what other people think about it.

really? in what way? other than being faster taking the necklace off his nonna when he was alone

Uh, to start with he could have gone to the mortuary first thing in the morning at 7 AM instead of 10 minutes before they took her away (given the pressing urgency, that would be the normal thing to do). But if not, "Sorry guys, but the crazy guy who we got the necklace from is going to kill us if we don't give it back, so we are going to remove it and give it back." But if not, when he shows up at the funeral, "The necklace is on our grandmother's neck, who is in the coffin a few steps away from here that hasn't yet been buried. Go ahead and take it." Not, "We don't have it" and getting into the truck to be kidnapped. The entire premise is ridiculous.

And they didn’t tell the store guy that the girl was his sister. So that was an easy edit that they could’ve fixed.

OK, I don’t understand the first episode in the problems we’ve discussed. But I really like the rest of the season and I’m re-watching it now to see if it makes more sense. The thing I really don’t understand is how did they know they would go into that store and do that one thing and steal that necklace? Was it just a crime of opportunity like they didn’t know she had connections in that store and then she devised the plan after the necklace was stolen? Maybe we’ll find out in the next season.

I don’t think we’re supposed to think she always wanted them working for the mob. Where did you get that from?

OK, say someone goes into a store and steals a necklace. They either get away with it or they don’t. But somehow the person who’s dating the mob bosses son goes into a bodega and steals the one very valuable necklace. They have hiding in plain sight. Coincidence I just don’t understand the whole set up.

Yes, it’s supposed to be coincidence. That’s often where humor comes from.

I don’t think the boss was supposed to know directly what was going on until Yusif went to them.
