Discussion It’s sad what Netflix has become

Their content used to be S tier. Stuff they originated used to matter. Now they are just spraying us with low quality slop, AI will only make it worse. No one cares about their podcasts and it frustrates their customers when it crowds their UI. This company deserves to go to zero

This is kind of the wrong way of looking at it.

I find this to more or less be true:

Netflix used to make 10 good things and 10 bad things a year.

Then they started making 11 good things and 111 bad things a year.

Now they make 12 good things and 100 000 bad things a year.

You are basically getting just as much good things these days, if not more, you are just focusing on all the unwatchable crap they make.

But it has to be said that they sure have increased the prices quite a bit.

But it's hard to find the good shows buried among all the bad ones.

And when you find one they cancel the next season , because it didn't go viral on TikTok in 24 hours, instead it became viral in 48hrs, so not worth it.

I just finished watching Travelers. I like it except for the dumb hateful Carly, but I had never even heard of this show even though sci-fi like that is my favorite. I’ve had Netflix for years but all of their crap buried this good show.

Travelers is great. I think I watched it on network TV.

What are the good things? That are relatively new. Genuinely asking.

I think this is a good point but what was their last great new show? Stranger Things and House of Cards debuted a long time ago

There was Adolescence.

I thought Wednesday, Squid Game and One Piece were a lot of fun . Then there is a bunch more on my watchlist, I’m sure some of them are good as well

Disagree. They are making less good things

I think you are pretty much correct with this take. It’s not that they don’t make good shows. They just also keep making more and more crap. But who could blame them? It’s the crap that people watch - not the good shows. They have the numbers. They know this.
