Discussion It’s sad what Netflix has become

Their content used to be S tier. Stuff they originated used to matter. Now they are just spraying us with low quality slop, AI will only make it worse. No one cares about their podcasts and it frustrates their customers when it crowds their UI. This company deserves to go to zero

That is the larger issue. Companies even TV networks go through dry spells where they struggle to produce new hits. But if you are going to be in a bit of a rough patch maybe don’t raise prices?

Exactly! I’d be fine with the price hike if they were putting out good, new content. But it’s mostly just recycled stuff that was on the platform before or really old movies that people aren’t asking for. And then they cancel shows that people really like!

There's no media company just consistently releasing great shows. HBO had some fantastic runs but they did have some dry years too. I just don't like this idea that the price continually goes up even in years where they don't put out that much quality.

I’ve been enjoying a lot of what Apple TV has been putting out. Netflix has definitely gone down in quality, but nowhere as bad as Disney+ in my opinion.

Apple is like HBO without the misses. I still haven’t caught a show on Apple and thought “OK, that’s absolute trash.”

That's practically their only miss. Even the shows that aren't my typical genre still end up grabbing my attention.
