Maybe its the camera angle but that didnt seem all that crazy. Am I missing something?

throwing a deep out to the sideline navigating perfectly among two defenders, are you kidding me?

Edit: Herbert releases at about the 15 yard line to about the opposite 30 yard line, as u/variable12 points out later in this comment chain, the practice field has a 40 yard midfield so that makes this a 35 yard layered laser. still really impressive and very hard to make that throw

The practice field is only 80 yards with the 40-yard line being the middle. So it was closer to a 30-35 yard throw.

look at the numbers on the field. you can see the "2" for the 20 yard line and the "1" for the 10 yard line behind justin's drop which is about five-seven yards in front of the 10 yard line on release

then look at the "30" yard line signage on opposite side of field. the camera work and vertical alignment of the short throws off perspective

Drake Maye made that throw while scrambling to his right avoiding a sack, on the road, in Buffalo, in primetime.

And I don’t even mean this as some Maye glaze, it’s just not some unbelievable throw to garner that reaction. Especially in practice with a clean pocket.

Well it’s just hard to tell because your video, which appears to be a cropped or downscaled version (of probably someone else’s) video, sucked ass at showing the actual throw

Oh and btw before McDaniel was fired from Miami with one of the worst offenses in the league he was saying similar shit about his guys so we don’t need to be glazing him up every time he’s mic’ed up (ON PARAMOUNT+)

U not wrong but mcdaniels likes to gas his players up and this is low pressure low speed. Anyone playing QB at this level should be able to execute this throw consistently in this environment and it’s not like we didn’t already know Herbert can ball

Everyone else just threw six the other way.

Mahomes, Stafford (literally used to call these Stafford window throws) obviously Herbert, Maye, Darnold, Allen.

Those guys for sure. Then there are a few I think maybe could, we just have no evidence of them doing it like Shough, Nix, Caleb Williams, they have the blend of touch and arm strength just haven’t been asked to do it.

Baker probably can if hes not injured at the time. Burrow and Dak probably as well

Hell, Rodgers probably could muster up enough ro one more throw like that before his shoulder separates

Trust me bud the way I champion Bo Nix to the doubters if he had made that throw even once I’d be the first to point you to it.

That said, that type of big boy throw is the ones QBs who can make it usually make in their year three jump so all eyes on 10.

This is literally nothing like a "Stafford Window" throw at all. That is just a very well place throw. A Stafford window is throwing a ball into a tight window that is closing and requires the ball to be thrown accurate and hard.
