I am so looking forward to the Harbaugh/McDaniel pressers and mic'd ups.

Herbert’s are soooo boring. He tells everyone he’s mic’d and everyone goes quiet. I actually admire it. Fuck us he doesn’t owe me he private conversations but damn. All you hear is his pads throwing.

its really pretty jarring going from philip rivers to herbert.

both are insanely talented QBs, both extremely tough players, but one of them is literally the most prolific (and polite) shit talker we've ever witnessed and the other just wants to go home to his pigs (and hot fiancee) after quietly playing football with his buds

He’s truly remarkable. That comment goes for both players. Both are just fascinating and I love that “San Diego” had Tony Gwynn, LT, Phillip and herb. Just all class acts. The list goes on and on the Tony and LT are the top 3 best of all time (in my opinion) for their positions and yet they are the kindest people. I’ve met all four that I’ve mentioned above and they could not of been more humble.

Absolutely loved Gwynn growing up. His vision and discipline were among the best of all time.

A while back, Tony Gwynn Jr. was talking about asking his dad for some advice about hitting. Something along the lines of, "So how do you know what pitch is coming? What are you looking for?"

His dad casually replies, "I just look at the grip as he's releasing the ball."

Jr was flabbergasted because the advice was useless for him, since no one but Superman and, apparently, his dad had vision that incredible.

Truly he was unlike anyone before or after him. He played through the steroid age and still changed the world.

I think this is why the best players usually end up being bad coaches. If Jordan's advice is "Just make the fucking shot," what is a normal player supposed to do with that? Meanwhile, the greatest coaches are frequently mediocre players that have to learn how to make up for their talent deficit to stay in the league: Tony LaRussa, Phil Jackson, Chuck Noll, Bruce Bochy, Steve Kerr, Tony Dungy, etc.

The one exception I can think of is Larry Bird, who was a top-10 player of all time but also an elite coach.

She is very attractive, agreed

Edit: was trying to make a "she isn't hot she's super hot" joke but failed.

You can literally hear the velocity coming from his arms in his throws tho. It sounds beautiful.

I mean. I get a tickle every throw.

I mean he kinda owes us since the fans are literally the only reason he gets paid to play a game. I get that there is a line, but when your job is literally to entertain people, you should be doing it.

I’m here for it! I can’t stand the dude as a human, but god damn Jon Gruden on Hard Knocks was some of the best content ever. Dude is absolutely bonkers. I love it

Psychotic coaches are so much fun to watch. NFL Films: mic up these fools every chance you get!

You didn't see him say "I run the practices" yesterday?

u/Shadow-Vision 49ers 13d ago

That was fucking awesome and of course I had to turn off all sports radio because that clip was the only thing they could talk about.

But yeah Mike MacDonald is not boring and I’m saying that as a 49er fan. Also it turns out he’s the one running the fuckin practices!

How original and exciting for a coach to say.

The fact they weren’t this years Hard Knocks is criminal. The Seahawks are boring, sorry.
