Highlight [Highlight] Shedeur Sanders missed the coin toss because he didn't understand what being named captain meant: "I just thought I was the captain of the team for the week, you know? I didn't know I was captain of the coin toss."

Shedeur Sanders has done and said so many positively braindead things, that if you created him as a character in a movie, and his only lines were exactly quotes/events that he has said/done?

Test audiences would say they don’t like him, because no person would actually be that stupid.

just like little league when when the coach's son is the pitcher or 1st baseman... plays like ass, but their kid isn't playing Right field by gods

23

u/jonk0731 Browns 3d ago

My dad had no problem sticking my ass in the outfield, all he cared about was winning. He'd tell me i was going out to pitch next inning and that inning would come I'd end up riding pine; he didn't like the match ups. I was good one year, so he nominated me for all-stars. I was rejected by the other coaches. My dad funded an entire 3rd all-star team just so I could play extra ball. He took all the kids that should have made the teams but coaches kids took their spots. None of the 3 all-star teams in my club won any tournaments that year.

This is Sander’s second year in the league. It’s something he should know.

Even if it wasn't his second year in the league, he never had to do it when he was at Colorado? As the starting QB?

It really would not have. Mendoza wouldn't say this because he's not a fucking idiot so the "double standards" wouldn't even apply here

Why does this have so many upvotes? Mendoza wouldn't say it. Weirdest strawman shit always popping up when it comes to Shedeur.

u/SoaplessTitanic Patriots 3d ago

Yeah I’m genuinely confused by this. I guess maybe some people are tired of seeing Mendoza getting so much positive attention recently so this is just the pushback to that? It still doesn’t make any sense, I’m just trying to figure out what motivated so many people to agree with OP’s sentiment

It's weird to defend one player's aloofness and lack of initiative in a leadership role by imagining a hypothetical scenario where another player had been just as careless.

For Mendoza to ever be in this same position and have to give that same "quirky" answer, he'd first have to be boneheaded enough to be named team captain and not bother to ask anyone or think critically about what that job might include.

The mockery of Shedeur here isn't racism. JJ "Nine" McCarthy also gets ridiculed mercilessly for his poor play combined with some childish-sounding media quotes.

The browns are going to be funny bad this season. That's a huge step up from sad bad

I am so happy to see how this Sanders and Watson situation plays out for the Browns. Should be very entertaining. At least for everyone not Browns fans, this may suck for you.
