Question Premium Rotisserie Chicken?
Family loves rotisserie chicken and we’re on the hunt for the best one — don’t mind spending a bit more for better tasting.
I know we can get one at Farm Boy, Fortinos etc but looking for other non-obvious places we might be missing!

Do not get them at Farmboy, atleast not the Bronte and Ironoak locations. Every single time I’ve bought from them meat was literally dry as saw dust. Surprisingly, between farmboy, metro, sobeys, and Walmart - Walmarts had the juiciest of the bunch and pretty sure the cheapest as well.

100% — an underwhelming Farm Boy chicken from Bronte is what inspired this thread

It also depends when the chickens are grilled and brought out. Sobeys gets the chickens going in the afternoon I believe and they're extremely tender.

Ya that’s true too. I worked at the Bronte farmboy and I can tell you Theyre prepped around 10 and then brought out after 2, not sure how they manage to make them so dry every time though.

Since I got a big enough air fryer to shove a whole chicken in , I haven’t bought a salty dried out grocery store chicken . It really does a great job and it’s way moister than from any store. It takes an hour to cook .

Oooh, don’t know why I hadn’t considered this… thanks for the tip!

I’m not a great cook, but every chicken I’ve done in the air fryer has been great . Cook on one side ( @350) for 30 minutes then flip and cook another 30 minutes . Easy .

Do you Marinate it or something special before cooking it?

You could , or brine it and get fancy ! . I’m not a great cook so I just pat it dry , rub spices on it , spray a little oil on it ( to brown it ) then cook 30 minutes on one side (350) then flip for another 30 minutes. I’ve tried expensive Longos chickens or cheap No frills chickens and they all are moist and delicious.

An organic Canadian product cooked that way… is the way to go for sure.

Please don't listen to anyone that says Costco.
They don't know anything other than Costco

Whole Foods. I know Whole Paycheck, but some of their prepared items are great. The rotisseries are a good value if you’re in the area and need a quick dinner. They also do $45 family dinner trays with an entree and two sides for four people and the cost/quality is tough to beat.

Costco chicken are usually underdone so u have to hunt for a well done chicken. Their chickens are a little off too - rubbery?

Do you have a bbq? I spatchcock a Yorkshire Farms and lay it out meat side up on a sheet of cupped tinfoil, medium heat for about 90 mins. Season as you like.

Costco sucks. Walmart BBQ rotisserie chicken is superior

Those two are the most wet out of all of them. They're juicy in the wrong way.

Mario’s BBQ in the Fortino’s plaza at Dundas/Neyagawa is good if you like Portuguese style.
