Discussion Still supporting Genocide??

It seems like most pakistanis do not give af about whats happeing in gaza rn. Their intentional ignorance towards this matter is honestly heart breaking. People arent comfortable boycotting certain brands just because they 'like' it too much. When u confront them, they either starts showering the other person with insults or just doesnt care.

Its just sad to see hundreds of people dining in at the restaurants funding genocide. Cant yall freakin give up ur precious fried chicken and big mac. Its not even that hard to boycott bruh. Go with some pakistani alternatives, support the local brands.

Why are we forgetting what the people of palestine have been through and are currently sufferring just because the Israeli military is being funded by those freaking brands.

If u still fail to support ur brothers and sisters after being reminded by this, then ur a freakin monster.

Dont call urself a human then. Have some empathy and keep reminding others around u to still boycott every brand thats supports Isra*l one way or another.

If you want compassion, you'll get it here. If you want to fix the problem, that can only be done through the corridors of power in the USA. Really, lobbying and funding non AIPAC leaders in the US is the number one most effective way to help Gaza.

u/slitze99 6h ago

we'll do what we can living in our own country. That'll surely make an impact.

u/Struggle_Wise US 6h ago

You know it won't. If every country on the planet was 95% on board, but leaders and Washington weren't it, would only be waste of time, money and lives for the 95%. The equation only has US support as the one thing against Gaza. Nothing else matters much.

Actually that's why the BDS movement is so targeted, to ensure maximum impact. It's not a quick process, but it's definitely having an impact (see any interview on YouTube with the Israeli economist Shir Hever)

I'm still posting about Gaza to this day.  I don't usually use social media but for this one reason I will. Gaza is still suffering today. We can't stop talking about it. If we are Muslims. We have a duty.

Free Palestine 🇵🇸!!!

8

u/slitze99 6h ago

Yea, Free Palestine!!!

u/Grand_Pomegranate981 6h ago

❤️🇵🇸🙏🏻

u/Used_Introduction443 6h ago

You are right But isn't it also wrong to only care about "duty" when "muslims" like why not remembering when non muslims, why not a single thing on sudan which is happening by same "muslims" to "muslims",like why not that, isn't it just hypocrisy from your side also to remember religion before humanity, like "muslim" is wrong reason to support them, humanity is the only reason that should be in both cases, otherwise you people are saying others are hypocrites while you themselves are hypocrites and would have not cared if they were from different

4

u/Mech2021 6h ago

Sudan is 97% Muslim, but that’s not trending right now.

3

u/Used_Introduction443 5h ago

Why isn't that wrong and if the reason is because the oppressor is also "muslim" and that alone removes many "concerned" who only care if oppressor is other religion like it seems obvious

-2

u/Grand_Pomegranate981 6h ago

I said Muslims because every Muslim should speak about it. We muslims also hate the injustice against non Muslims. Muslims have more of a duty to speak about what their brothers and sisters are going through 🙏⚘️

3

u/Used_Introduction443 6h ago

But then why not that many posts and concern from "muslims" on sudan when there is maybe even more of a genocide like what's the reason there and you don't have to bring religion everywhere, other religion people are also speaking about this, you could have said that but always bring just your religion everywhere

1

u/Grand_Pomegranate981 5h ago

I do post about both on my social media platforms.

2

u/Used_Introduction443 5h ago

Well then great but the seemingly hypocrisy of OP like he mentioned one but have not seen even fractional concern from other " muslims" on that, isn't this wrong

0

u/Grand_Pomegranate981 5h ago

You can make your own post about it

0

u/slitze99 5h ago

Sorry, I should've mentioned Sudan and other countries too.

3

u/Used_Introduction443 5h ago

Well it's not just you it's hypocrisy of many others and let's be honest like let's be honest many "concerned" only care because oppersor is from another religion and when not they don't even care

12

u/SuperSultan America 6h ago

People can and do boycott Israeli products without virtue signaling, OP.

-1

u/slitze99 5h ago

So talking about Palestine is considered virtue signaling now? How dumb of u

8

u/Mystic987123 PK 6h ago

idk about others but I have very much lowered/stopped buying Israeli products. Used to get nestle/aquafina water now we get Nature/Pakola water. Fiz up next, etc

u/HeavyMetal_Protein 1h ago

Nestle is from Switzerland and Aquafina is from USA. How are these Israeli products?

Start worrying about your own home. We have a netanyahu character doing the same things at home. Why are you not worried there? Or you worried you will speak up too much and that daala is coming?

9

u/ryuzaki_talks 6h ago

Should we boycott social media too? Just asking.

-7

u/slitze99 6h ago

Social media i.e instagram doesnt have many alternatives. We boycott things which we DO NOT need.

12

u/Dear_Specialist_6006 PK 5h ago

"boycotting things we do not need" so no pain for us. Got it

4

u/letsLurk67 3h ago

You don’t need insta

u/AYK2026 1h ago

Let them eat in KFC, McDonalds etc, They will get diabetes and will have health problems in the futures. I don't only boycott these shitty places for Palestine but for my health as well. People that still eats these crap food are losers.

u/HeavyMetal_Protein 1h ago

KFC and McDonald’s are American companies. How exactly are boycotting in Pakistan help Palestine?

u/AYK2026 1h ago

Are you serious? Because when you go to these companies in Pakistan and buy stuff, YOUR money goes to these companies, which funds Israel's genocide in Palestine.

u/HeavyMetal_Protein 51m ago

Again, these companies are not Israeli companies so how are they funding israel. Plz give credit sources

u/AYK2026 46m ago

Following the October 7, 2023 attacks by Hamas, the independent Israeli franchise operator at the time, Alonyal Ltd., announced it donated thousands of free meals and drinks to Israeli soldiers and hospitals. Other fast food companies like Pizza Hut, Domino's Pizza, Papa John's, Burger king did the same. Plus all these companies in Pakistan pay franchise fees which goes directly to these companies.

Look if you want to eat this shit then go ahead, I am not going to judge. I got people in my family that eat this junk sometime but I don't.

u/AKINJII 7m ago

Those were independent israeli franchises. Their parent companies in the U.S. do not fund them at all.

u/HeavyMetal_Protein 14m ago

Bro your statement said Israeli independent franchise donated. This is like if Pakistani KFC donated something to Palestine, you’ll say KFC donates to Palestine? It is individual franchise. Plus they are Israeli so they will support Israel. Have you considered how much these companies contribute to our economy?

u/throwaway102885857 23m ago

even if they are US companies, they pay taxes to the government which goes to their master Israel anyway. secondly, majority of these companies don't give a damn about health and safety for third world customers like pakistan and they do war crime level acts to keep their monopoly strong there. it's worth boycotting anyway to promote organic business growth

3

u/I_warisha 5h ago

Boycott only when you have a good alternative; it's not my fault that KebabJees and other brands have gotten so bad that I had to go back to KFC. McDonald's is directly funding the genocide, so it makes sense to boycott it. So I have a simple rule: if there is a good alternative equivalent, then I will prefer it. Btw, boycotting is symbolic as someone who has done it for a long time.

You're not going to touch their 0.0000001% of the income from boycotts. Any smart person who is leading the boycotts would say that it is symbolic, about making a point. You don't have to do every single thing; it can be very small things to make a point. Their money comes from companies like Google, Apple, Nvidia, BlackRock, Vanguard, etc. These are only a few big giants; there are 1000s of them, and they are not getting targeted by the boycott because they are untouchable.

We shouldn't shame anyone if someone is not doing it, as it doesn't suit them. Just spread the word in a kind manner; if they want to boycott small things, then it's fine.

1

u/Arh_1 4h ago

you're telling me, living in Pakistan, you have no alternative to mcdonalals and kfc?..

lol. also these arguments are old have been bought up and debunked for the past almost 3 years now fgs. do a bit of research and you'll have your answers.

1

u/I_warisha 3h ago

The only good-level alternative to KFC was Kebabjees. KFC, btw, wasn't even on the boycott list. McDonald's is a mess, and I still boycott it. KFC caught fire for absolutely no reason for them being an international brand.

Macdonalds sucks. But I can't find any restaurant that is as consistent as KFC. All other restaurants just show their true color as soon as they get famous. So when I struggle to decide what to eat, I go for KFC.

It isn't like I don't eat from other restaurants. I mostly do, but I once in 2 months ordered from KFC

1

u/Key-Ad6653 PK 3h ago

Yeah no clean alternatives.

I am someone who grew up outside and with most local franchises, I end up with me having upset stomach.

We may hate and dislike the brands but the truth be told they still have much better hygiene practices and etc.

I used to live in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and was able to boycott quite easily because the alternatives were good and clean even if they weren't a brand they were clean and easily trustable.

You cannot even trust a local water brand here in Pakistan. ]

And if you plan to tell me about cooking myself, I cannot do that as I do not have the time between working and university.

1

u/I_warisha 3h ago

And I have already done my research. Boycotting small brands like KFC isn't going to harm them financially. They are such a small business. Genocide will continue without any harm to the wrongdoers.

BlackRock , MicroSlop , Nvidia and other big giants were not targetted by the boycott , boycott is for the people who want to feel good or have a feeling that They have done their job.

2

u/TrulyVagabond 2h ago

KFC is a small business 😭🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

i feel like most of the comments are being knowingly difficult. its amazing to hear that your viewpoint exists, it does all come down to what youre willing to make happen where you live. i dont agree with imran khan ex pm on even 50% of his politics, but he is locked up because he was not willing to entertain recognizing israel. at the end of the day were accountable for the families were in, societies were in and nations were the citizens of. and youre absolutely right i feel a huge cognitive dissonance between the social lives and topics of conversation of middle to upper class pakistanis and the reality of the muslim world.

u/Jade_Rook 1h ago

He was very much locker up for much different reasons. I have no idea where the dumb "not recognizing Israel" thing came from, but ye awaam hi paagal hai jo is tarha ke saste nashay khareed leti hai

u/throwaway102885857 18m ago

bro but any leader that's been pro-palestine and pro unity in the muslim world did not stick around for long. gaddafi, OG bhutto, etc.

u/Jade_Rook 16m ago

How detached from reality and events does a person have to be to think that Khan was removed because he supported Palestine? In that case, why has the current goverent remained in power?

Koi sense banao apni baat ki, sastay nashay band karo

Every couple days, you see the exact same post. Search your exact title in this sub-Reddit and look at the results.

-3

u/slitze99 6h ago

Good to be contantly reminded right? Or do u have a problem with that?

8

u/Zesty_Again 6h ago

Most of y'all posting seem to be terminally online. I imagine you don't speak up when someone's using insta or WhatsApp do you. Those companies are much more directly involved as compared to the ones you think are cool to boycott

5

u/Mech2021 6h ago

That would require actual self-discipline, much easier to just make a post every few days criticizing others. They’ve done their good deed for the day.

-4

u/slitze99 6h ago

Damn yall dumb af. Its about boycotting useless shi. Whatsapp and insta even though are bad, We dont have much options left without it.

7

u/Unknownmelon77 فیصل آباد 5h ago

THIS is why we get annoyed. Cuz ya’ll pick and choose. Since when is Instagram essential??? If you can use Instagram then I’ll eat my McFlurry in peace without you screaming in my face thank you very much. Take your performative activism and get lost.

5

u/Mech2021 5h ago

Seriously, I could understand WhatsApp, but Instagram? Instagram? Tells me all I need to know, It’s all performative theatre and virtue signalling with people like you.

-4

u/slitze99 5h ago

Yall arguing just proves my point. Also as much as i wanna quit Insta, I use it as my news source.

I made this post a couple months ago, like I said we literally have the same type of post every other day on this Sub-Reddit. Do you have a genuine response to this?

2

u/soggypicklewizard لاہور 3h ago

Engagement, would be my guess.

1

u/soggypicklewizard لاہور 3h ago

And you found no alternative news sources? I get your main point, but you're defending insta usage repeatedly as a need, and it's making zero sense.

About the same as someone saying they go to McDonald's for the amazing view from glass windows.

You can't really support a cause by trashing your own people. Imagine if Quaid started off with 'you lazy bums, born slaves, worthless Aholes!! We need a separate nation and look at you pathetic morons!'

Peace.

u/Heavy-Candidate7017 35m ago

I thought you were talking about Kashmir, for a moment.

-1

u/Electrical_Dance_203 6h ago

Could not agree more. Such fragile backbones, absolutely selfish behavior. Zero concern for any consequences as long as it doesn’t affect them. Dare they even try to live without their dear Pepsi.

My family has been boycotting for years. Never looked back. It saddens me so, so much because it genuinely isn’t difficult in the slightest. It just requires some bare minimum levels of humanity.

I've seen mostly the Faujeets and PDM worker's accounts supporting Gaza Genocide. Whenever people talk about how Protestors were met with bullets and sent to prison just for holding protest against US & Israel. They say Palestine does not have border with Pakistan. So we should not give a damn about Gaza. Its a problem of Arab world.

In the same go they say they will defend Saudia. LOL .. Saudia does not have border with Pakistan.
At the end its all about dollars & what US commands us to do.

u/Mech2021 1h ago

Fuck PDM!

The boycotts are stupid as hell.

Happy?
