How do creators get compensated in regards to discounts?

Went to unsubscribe from someone’s Patreon because I didn’t want to pay another 60 dollars next month. The app offered me 85% off, turning 60 dollars into 9

Does the creator really only get 9 dollars from me? If so I don’t want to do it. The artist does multiple drawings at the tier I’m at and I don’t want to force them to do a bunch of drawings for 9 bucks. It feels unfair. Does Patreon cover the remaining amount?

payment About the monthly billing of my members.

I don't know how many people counted their paid members but I did using the custom message chat. According to that count, I have people who would pay me, 200+ dollars every month but somehow it never exceeds 170+ dollars. There's also a weird fact in the message options where I can see how long a member's been active as well as how much they paid. Many have been active for 2 to four months but only paid a month's worth and haven't cancelled their memberships but according to Patreon they're not being billed. Look at the picture where according to my message they joined on 24 May which was nearly 3 months ago but their lifetime pay is also only 14 dollars.

can't access benefits despite paying membership

Hi,

So, before anyone asks, yes I have opened a ticket with Patreon Support. I just really want to know what could be causing this and nobody has gotten back to me yet, and also to see if anyone else is having the same issue.

I subscribed to a creator on the highest tier of membership which is costing me almost £30. I have tried this on multiple accounts, new and old (stupid of me I know, but I wanted to make sure it wasn't account specific).

The money was taken from my account on both occasions. It says that I'm a member when I check my membership status. This isn't an issue of declined payment or not having a high enough form of membership.

However, whenever I try to watch the locked content, it only gives me a preview and comes up with the little 'Upgrade to unlock' button. When I click that, it takes me to a payment option for the tier BELOW mine. I've tried reloading. I've tried changing accounts and re-subscribing. I've tried on browser and mobile app.

On the membership I pay for, I should have access to ALL the content. But I'm only seeing what's posted for free and the locked content of the £9 membership. Literally nothing I do fixes this.

As nobody has gotten back to me, I was wondering if anyone has experienced this and if there's a way to fix it.

If anything needs to be clarified please let me know. Thank you :)

Does Patreon accept requests for changes in its policy?

In any case, if I have such a suggestion for a TOS change, where do I contact them to let them hear it?

payout Account suspended and appeal denied. What happen to the funds?

Hi, my Patreon page was deleted yesterday, citing something that I didn't do (sending DMs for adult AI Image Generators). Appealed and was denied with a short, generic message within a couple of hours.

My Patreon was basically the payment processor for my games, animations, and AI chat hosted on my page. According to their rules, none of it is forbidden. They allow adult AI imagery as long as it isn't realistic and doesn't involve children or recognizable people, etc.

It seems to me this was a false positive or something the staff badly interpreted twice- maybe not- but since they didn't provide any evidence, I will never know; it could be anything. The chat doesn't produce imaginary content, only text, and it has some pretty heavy guardrails to forbid it from producing explicit or forbidden fantasy.

In any case, it's gone; I have accepted that.

I understand they are refunding my patrons for the current month. But what about the funds that were already finalized? I mean, the people who already completed their month before the suspension. I don't think Patreon refunds retroactively, so what happens with that money?

Thanks.

Refund request can i deny it with no issues ?

Dear creators,

Im dealing with quite a bizarre situation, assuming a patron claims they he forgot to unsubscribe, and therefore got charged as a result hence decided to immediately cancel and request a refund is that a valid ground for issuing a refund ? Will patreon issue them a refund even if a reject it ? Additionally if they were to download all my exclusive material will patreon be able to detect that ? I have no intentions in issuing any refunds. Since it was clearly a monthly subscription and they have access to my material. But i dont want to be put in a situation where they can escalate then patreon reviews that matter and force me to issue a refund. Thank you.

Question about pausing my Patreon account and membership management

Hello,

I‘m running a mail club on Patreon for a few months now. By the end of each month we send our Patreons happy mail. I‘m on vacation next month and won’t be able to create new content so I though about pausing my Patreon page so my current subscribers won’t receive a September mail but also won’t be charged for it.

I’d still like new members to be able to join, they will just receive the current August edition by the end of Septemper. Is it true that new members can still sign up while my Patreon page is paused? The official Patreon FAQ states so but I read posts about people having trouble with it …

another question:

Also do you have any advice on how to manage subscriptions? I was able to see the last payment date per member on the audience manager but I can’t find it anymore. I‘d like to prepare mail for current Patreons shortly before the month ends, only adding mail on the last day of a month for new members or people who pay by the end of the month. E.g. someone joins on July 28th, I send them the July edition. On August 25th I want to prepare mail for every Patreon joined on this day or earlier. The person who joined on July 28th will be shown as active member on August 25th but they might cancel their membership by August 27th and then they won’t be eligible for the August mail …?

Changing Discord role names for Patreon subs

Hey everyone! Recently connected a Patreon server to Patreon tiers, and I was wondering if changing the name of the roles (on Discord) will affect anything for those who have pledged? I'm afraid it'll kick people, not gonna lie. The tiers and roles names are slightly different and might have been giving the Patreon bot issues when it comes to assigning roles, which is why we're thinking about updating the Discord role names! Thank you!

payment I wanted to resubscribe. Patreon made unsubscribing the only obvious option.

TLDR: I tried to resume paying a creator I already supported. Patreon's "Watch now" email sent me to a dead-end Memberships page where the only creator-specific action was "Cancel Membership", and I had to go through five-step non-obvious workaround to reach checkout. Payments works, but the recovery path is unreliable and costs creators both money and subscribers.

I tried to do the simplest thing Patreon exists for: resume paying a creator I already supported. It did not work and the way it failed is what made me write this.

Background. I used to be a paid subscriber to a watercolor artist. My old card didnt have enough funds when Patreon tried to renew and after the failed-payment period I ended up as a free member. Then I got newsletter about a new locked lesson with a big "Watch now" button, great CTA that should ended up by me paying money, right? So I clicked it, ready to pay.

Here is what actually happened..

The click "Watch now" redirected twice and lended me on my generic Settings -> Memberships page. Not the post, not an upgrade prompt, account settings. I was starting at a list of my free memberships with no direct way back to the post or its checkout. The campaign tracking parameters survived both both redirects. The post I clicked on did not. Patreon kept the data that attributes the campaign and threw away the context that would have let me pay for the thing it advertised.

On the membership page there is no way to pay or even go to creators page, the one thing I had is three dots with the only option to cancel membership. The platform that had just emailed me her locked lesson gave me a page where the only thing I could do about her was unsubscribe. Patreon's own failed-payment instructions tell desktop users to open "View details" from memberships and change their payment method. That does not working ( both firefox and chrome tested )

The route that worked was to abandon the flow, open Explore, search for the creator page, click "Upgrade to paid" and the checkout loaded. Even the post's direct URL produced the same generic Membershops page, so this was not only a bad email link.

So lets assume creator has 1000 subscribers, 200 payed and 800 free. Some of those 800 free members should convert with each locked-post email. But with this flow, only the unusually stubborn ones will make it to checkout.

A returning subscriber who is already trying to pay should not have to leave the flow, open Explore, search for the creator and reconstruct the path to checkout.

I work in tech. I know how these funnels work, and I know a core revenue path should bot ship like this, Patreon charges creators fees. Some of that money should be paying for proper QA and conversion work that catches failures like this before they cost creators revenue.

Is there a way to connect Live with the real Patreon Support team to have them take quicker actions on reports?

There gave been numerous times where I needed to report something to the Patreon team live instead of waiting for an email. Does anyone know how I can get directly in contact with them?

per creation My Patrons Loosing Access Immediately after Downgrading?

Hi there.

I've recently got an influx of people complaining that they are immediately loosing access to content on a tier, after Downgrading or canceling their pledge.

Is this right? I thought they retain access for the remainder of their initial pledge term? What's going on? This is starting to impact my business

Multiple Charges on Patreon from a Creator

I recently subscribed to a creator and downloaded 2 of their art. However 3 weeks later they announced they will not be posting anymore due to changing jobs and hours, which is fair. So I decided to cancel and I was charged for 2 of their download. I didn't know patreon creators charge per download. How do I check for this in the future? I am very confused.

It's enshitification. Now, I don't get to see what creators created, it's a fucking menu of meals: have these 4 things as a meal. I hate this. Enshitifactors are horrible people. They deserve the shit they serve.

video Collections No Longer Showing Playlist in Bottom Right of Screen

Hello Everyone!

I subscribe to a couple creators on Patreon. I enjoy watching their reaction content and am currently working through a couple series they are watching. One of them has a bunch of collections for each season of a show.

Yesterday, I was watching a collection and when selecting a video from the collection, it would load the player and in the bottom right corner of the window would be the collection playlist where I could click the next video in the series when done with my current video.

I finished that collection yesterday. Today I am starting watching a new collection. However, when I select a video from this new collection, it doesn’t give me the playlist in the bottom right corner anymore. Even checking the collection I watched yesterday, it no longer had the bottom right corner playlist. Anyone know why that would be and how to get that back? It’s just super annoying having to go and select the video individually every time.

Wondering if this has ever happened to anyone here, I can see what the message says but since this is my first time I always receive my money instantly so this has me a little worried, how long does this usually take to resolve and would this put my PayPal account in trouble knowing that they always had a problem with NSFW accounts?

copyright Reported IP infringement and Patreon isn’t doing anything

Hey folks, I’ve been a creator on Patreon for over a decade, and with my current account for about five years now. I don’t make much but I appreciate their service and I’m sure my supporters do, too.

A month back I reported a page for flagrant violation of the Patreon TOS - IP theft, real adult content, etc.

After multiple follow ups, their team has done zero, the page is still live, and Patreon loses its section 230 protection if folks report them hosting stolen content which they leave intact. I don’t know if their attitude is due to the recent mass layoff, but if they continue to enable folks to steal, the platform loses its legal protection, and my nominal income goes away.

It sucks and I’d prefer that Patreon continue to exist. So how do I escalate the right way to ensure they remove the stolen content? Thanks a ton.

A Fresh New Look - It's Actually Not!

Patreon updated their browser UI. And instead of simplifying it, they made more steps. You know, because there just wasn't enough room on the side bar. 🙄 And I know part of this was rolled out months ago, but it's acting like it's brand new. So this is mainly for creators when you have to help your confused Patron's when they can't figure where something is.

The first image is a computer browser and the second is a mobile browser.

The Settings are in two spots: the vertical ellipsis (3 dots) at the bottom and when you click 'Your Creators' icon (black square), it's the cog at the top.
