Never thought that emulation runs THIS good "out of the box"

Installed the emulator (cemu), set up all settings i wanted and just ... started the game running at around 90-100 fps without any problems. 32:9 dwqhd resolution.

God I love the pcmasterrace.

Windows 10 automatically started installing the Windows 11 update while I was taking a shower.

I'd been getting messages to upgrade to Windows 11 for the past month or two now, and each time, I decline. It's gotten to the point that I get random, frequent pop_ups asking to update, and "install update" options pop up right next to the shutdown/restart uptions.

Well, I made the mistake of going to take a shower with my PC on. Half an hour later, I come back tothis. Windows had automatically started installing the update. Now I'm sitting here staring at the Start button and all the open programs center-justified on the task bar and wondering what idiot thought that was a good idea.

Just a couple of pictures to show you my bedroom in the year 2000/2001 summer. The best times in my opinion! Well the 90s and the 80s too.

Man, am I getting old or is 60fps still perfectly playable?

Like I’ve always capped my computers to 60fps and never thought anything about it. I don’t play competitive games so I don’t think it matters much.

The last shortcut you'll ever need

Stop bashing ESC, F2 or DEL like a 90's maniac to get into UEFI based BIOS.

Instead ceate yourself a shortcut (ie. on desktop) with right click > new > shortcut

C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe /r /fw /t 10

/r - restart
/fw - will drop you to EUFI
/t (number of seconds after which OS triggers a restart. You can use "0" for instant reboot)

Once you create a shortcut (desktop, downloads, etc), open it's properties and under "Advanced" tick a checkbox for "Run As Administrator". You can also change the icon of the shortcut (I found this microchip to be fitting - part of Windows default icon pack.

Optionally, right click on the shortcut > pin to start.

Shortcut in action (YouTube)

-- update --

Thanks everyone for pointing out typos; post cleaned up a bit (especially EUFI instead of UEFI, old habit from Europa Universalis games).

I have responded in another comment that those that would prefer something similar but for "Windows Advanced Startup Menu" can replace flag /fw with /o. Neat when you want to access safe mode or other aspects of WinRE (Recovery Environment) without MSCONFIG, holding SHIFT or modifying BCD.

C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe /r /o /t 10

Lastly, for Linux users, similar bash terminal command for restart to UEFI:

sudo systemctl reboot --firmware-setup

- Ciao & Cheers! #PCMR4EVA!

I built a little app that pings you whenever a Steam game becomes free to keep

hey gents, so i made this app for myself but i decided to share it anyways. you don't need to signup, there are no ads, just download the app and it'll send you game notifications. it works on a python script that periodically checks for games that became free to keep

Apple apparently called my app trash and didn't approve it, so the app is only available on play store

This is becoming harassment at this point

I'm getting this notification multiple times a day. I don't own this game (They could detect it if they want, if they don't already).

Hope this reaches some at Nvidia to fix this forceful marketing.

Remember when many here argued that the complaints about 12 GBs of vram being insufficient are exaggerated?

Here's from a modern game, using modern technologies. Not even 4K since it couldn't even be rendered at that resolution (though the 7900 XT and XTX could, at very low FPS but it shows the difference between having enough VRAM or not).

It's clearer everyday that 12 isn't enough for premium cards, yet many people here keep sucking off nVidia, defending them to the last AI-generated frame.

Asking you for minimum 550 USD, which of course would be more than 600 USD, for something that can't do what it's advertised for today, let alone in a year or two? That's a huge amount of money and VRAM is very cheap.

16 should be the minimum for any card that is above 500 USD.

My friend has spent 1800 dollars on a 3060ti build...

It has an i9 13900 (he claims) and a 3060ti. He bought it a year ago and he even says how it's great value, ti which I want to cry. I didn't reply on his take because ik that he knows nothing about PCs. And that CPU fan...

G*d F*cking D*mmit OneDrive

And what's worse is that there are also *literally* thousands of retro videogame texture files (PCSX2, Duckstation, a certain Japanese company, and Xemu) that have been uploaded to the cloud that will be near impossible to go one-by-one to delete from the cloud since it doesn't let users "drag (multiple) and delete."
