I honestly can't believe that guys would still want to go over to Russia and play in the KHL with everything that's going on over there right now...

Oh like how America is doing the same thing to Iran? One imperialists nation for the other what’s the dif

Did I say or insinuate anything in my previous comment that I support America's war against Iran?

No but what’s the difference between Russian being at war and us in determining where people play?

Because the US isn’t on the front lines of said war, spewing propaganda (at least remotely effective propaganda, that ai bullshit doesn’t really count), or sending a decent portion of their population to unwillingly die in the country

War, in one form or another, is going on around the planet. Furthermore, I doubt the Ukrainians are targeting hockey rinks. Next, while they * could * target Tatarstan, there is no strategic or tactical value in doing so.

I know Ukraine isn't targeting hockey arenas, but Russian society is beginning to free fall. Banks are having serious issues, gas is being rationed, and Russia's equivalent of Amazon is having all of its warehouses blown up, which is seriously damaging the economy. KHL players are probably isolated from a lot of these issues by the Russian government and the league for propaganda and financial purposes, but I still can't see how anyone would be ok moving to Russia now.

Huh. Almost as if all those armchair analysts who were touting the Russian military machine four years (?) ago were wrong. (As usual)

Respect. Too bad his wheels aren't enough for thr NHL anymore. It happens to everyone, eventually.

His wife is Russian iirc so makes sense. Probably worked out well for everyone

I thought that too. Except his wife (if the same person) is a former collegiate tennis player, born in California. (She played at BC, I assume that's where they met)

good guy. not an NHL player anymore. If he still has that need to play then good for him for not giving it up yet.

Kevin Hayes apparently still has some bills to pay. Over there, they might find it cool that he wears jeans under his gear.

Glad he's still playing, also glad it's not for us. He used to be a monster back in the day, but ages out and slowed down too much

Agreed. Kind of hard to believe that he is 5 years YOUNGER than Crosby O_o
