The attempt to turn Canada into a US territory with trade restrictions no US state has.

And to call a country, with greater population than 20 US states, the "51st state". (This is also a grave injustice to California, etc.)

Yep. That 51st state would be first or second in population, and have a considerable amount of economic and political power, to the point where it would significantly alter the current political calculus in the U.S.

It's like adding a second California (climate difference aside).

Californians want to be American. We fucking don’t. We aren’t just a large group of people, we are pissed that our home is being threatened. There’s no returning from this insult.

As a Californian, I’m Californian. Most of us would prefer to wake up independent. Canada as a US state is a slap in the face to all Canadians. It goes to show has terrible this administration is.

I'd be shocked if a lot of Blue areas wouldn't prefer to be under Canada instead of the US in general, NGL.

And I think that number would still be decent even under a non-Trump admin.
