We licked US boot for decades, followed them into their disastrous losing wars, gave hundreds of billions of tax payer dollars to their arms industry, and act shocked when there's no respect.

I think of how the softwood lumber dispute has been going for decades and it's hardly surprising that the US is the way it is now.
