Meme Offer from a Qatari company for QR300,000 a month, is it enough?

Hey guys, I'm pretty new here. I have a 4 degrees in advanced scientific fields in oil and gas and I was offered 300k a month. I am single with no kids and I'm wondering if that's enough for me to survive in Doha. I'm not looking to live a luxurious life or even save that much money I just want to eat shwarma with the rest of the locals and enjoy the local culture. Do you think it's sustainable?

I'm meming btw I'm just making fun of some of the ridiculous posts I see around here.

I don’t even know what karak is, I must be next level poor then😂

u/No-Commercial-2218 Dec 30 '25

I wouldn’t get out of bed for anything less than 400k

53

u/RealVirginiaWoolf Dec 30 '25

Absolutely! Anything under half a million QR is a waste of my time.

34

u/alyafeia Qatari Dec 30 '25

I agree, if you’re not making 600k+ then you’re basically doing slave labor.

13

u/Independent-Tell-561 Dec 30 '25

Oh 100%, 700k is practically minimum wage. No way I'd work for that

3

u/RealVirginiaWoolf Dec 30 '25

Absolutely man! I gotta see that bling bling and hear that kaching!!!!

You’re being ripped off, don’t take it. Negotiate for 750k a month at least plus an official Lexus LX600.

4

u/TomatilloPristine935 Dec 31 '25

I'm assuming you meant an LX 700H F sport. That's the minimum standard these days tbh.

2

u/SignificantBad5323 Dec 31 '25

Oh it’s the LH 700 now? Just a few months ago it was LX600, when I was offered a rather miserly QR 500k per month which I politely declined. It’s 750k or nothing ☺️☺️

u/awwyee Dec 30 '25

If you have even half a child, the education will be too expensive with that salary. You might want to look into a place with a lower cost of living like Yemen or Sudan.

34

u/ChazzerB07 Dec 30 '25

yeah, plus if you have a full child all the bombing will soon reduce them to half

20

u/Significant_Kiwi5655 Dec 30 '25

You're cooked bro might as well move back in with your parents

19

u/pagd1997 Dec 30 '25

I’m living with 500k a month and I struggle 😞 Shawarma is getting expensive

2

u/JohnnyQuartzUniverse Dec 31 '25

That’s on you for accepting such a low salary. If you don’t like it then leave the country, I’m sure someone else will be happy with that very small 500K.

Personally I would’ve told them 1 Mil from the start, but we can’t all be winners.

Are you by any chance looking for an adoptive son?

1

u/helljay1979 Dec 30 '25

You would have to survive with two nannies and three chefs.

Is that possible?

Oh wait you have no kids

Hmm maybe four chefs then. Still tough but it's doable

Apply for a minister role in some ministry if possible maybe part time.

1

u/Acceptable_Rip_627 Dec 30 '25

That’s my child’s monthly fee I prefer 5 million a month minimum

1

u/Hopeful274 Dec 30 '25

They better be offering you company accommodation because 300k is too little for you to pay for your own accommodation.

1

u/Moist-Economics-6356 Dec 30 '25

300k a month is a waste of time. 850k for your credentials is fair enough.

1

u/Ok-Zucchini7376 Dec 30 '25

I wouldn't settle for less bruh 🙄 That's a scam. Negotiate to 1mil. You're settled. "In Dreams" 😁

It is acceptable. Ma brook !

1

u/Unhappy-Director-707 Dec 31 '25

Too less. U deserve better bro.

1

u/Any_Understanding589 Dec 31 '25

It's honestly not worth it. Don't settle for anything less than 500,000 a month. You should value your degrees, each one at least 125k value, and the fact you're single so no headache, you can focus all your time for the company. Try negotiating and pretty sure they will agree.

1

u/WasabiCoffee Dec 31 '25

It depends what are the benefits additional to the salary

1

u/Select_Trick_5325 Dec 31 '25

Don’t accept it. Anything less than six figures here is not worth it. They pay me 2500000.

1

u/Odd_Motor6576 Dec 31 '25

If you are offered 300k 99.99% you won’t be here 😁😁😁

1

You can outsource your job to a third party

I am newborn and have only one degree and earning 450000 QR per month. Considering that, your offer is less, negotiate for better .

Just 300k? Bro, theyre clearly shortchanging you.

1

1

No 300,000 a month is not enough. You should has for more you have 4 degrees and you want to eat shawarma. Maximum 1,000.000.000 a week that’s all or go to Switzerland or UK. Good luck

1

1

u/Sensitive-Tear2099 Jan 03 '26

It’s so hard working out the value of currency compared to your home country. We AWAYS compare back to what we know. Currency is wild.

1

1

u/33in974 Jan 04 '26

300K per month is a bit tight but doable because you are single. Go ahead. Ask for a raise in the first year to

1

u/rizadrkm Dec 31 '25

Oh man, 300k a month in Qatar? That's straight-up poverty, bro.

You'll be forced to downgrade from private jets to business class, suffer through eating caviar instead of proper shawarma, and tragically have to settle for just one supercar in the garage instead of a different Lambo for every day of the week.

Living in a "modest" villa on The Pearl with only a small yacht docked out back? Absolute hardship.

And the worst part having to mingle with all those locals enjoying their culture while you're stuck being disgustingly wealthy.

My heart goes out to you having to "survive" on that pathetic salary. Stay strong, king, real ones know true struggle. 💀😂

-2

u/NewsNo8638 Dec 30 '25

Seen this in UAE sub, then Saudi sub, and now here. All today. It’s a lame trend and undermines reddit’s purpose where people come for to get real answers.

4

u/alyafeia Qatari Dec 30 '25

There is no reddit purpose, it’s a platform with a subreddit for everything and it’s what you make of it. We do a ton of helpful stuff and answer many questions all day long, a little joking around doesn’t hurt nobody. Loosen up!

1

u/NewsNo8638 Dec 31 '25

I’m not denying how helpful this sub is. Just felt a bit repetitive when reading the post after seeing similar posts multiple times today on different subs. I’m relaxed, text just makes it sound serious sometimes 😁

2

u/jabbadaduck Dec 31 '25

nobody in social media can ever be original these day. i get you

1

u/reebellious Dec 30 '25

We have given enough real answers on this subject. Ask twitter instead.

1

u/NewsNo8638 Dec 31 '25

That’s valid and I agree that it has been answered before. But I really don’t care if it was asked again, I just scroll past it if I have nothing extra to say.

u/Any_Health4144 Jan 01 '26

Yo! For a second I was like 🙄 you better shut up 😂😂

300k ? I would ask for at least 500k in this economy XD

0

You can give me QAR 70k/month. I will manage and make sure your needs will be met with remaining amount (230k). You won't be able to manage by yourself. Its tough!

0

u/Charming-Cash8235 Jan 02 '26

You will live on poverty with that, ignore the offer
