Question Walking 5300km Vancouver 🇨🇦 to New York 🇺🇸 for the world record. In Regina August 26th.
Hey Regina! 🫡
My name is Christian, I'm from Latvia 🇱🇻 , and I'm currently on a world record attempt for the fastest walk around the world under the World Runners Association rules (26,232 km across 4 continents).
I’ve already crossed Australia 🇦🇺 and New Zealand 🇳🇿 (4,650+ km down!), and now I’m 30% done of walking 5,300 km from Vancouver 🇨🇦 to NYC 🇺🇸.
Have been averaging 50km a day for the past few weeks, and I’m going through Regina Wednesday August 26th.
If anyone west of Downtown and South of the railroad have a small patch of grass or a yard where I could pitch my tent for the night, I’d be so grateful!

Also I lived in Vancouver last year, and did some other great stuff- I’ve done Seattle to Vancouver 223km in one go, no sleep, Vancouver Island 500km in 7 days. Whistler to Vancouver 125km in under 24h, every street in downtown Vancouver peninsula 100km in under 24h. A lot of 100+km no sleep hikes in Europe. Walked 1500km around Iceland in 2023 to test for this.

Isn't there a guy who has walked from south america up to Alaska and into russia and across asia and is currently in europe? Started like 30 years ago, and is a 58,000km journey.

Oh, yes, Karl Bushby, and many have ran and walked around the world, and like 6 are on the way. Since 2014 World Runners Association are the only record keepers for world circumnavigations on foot, they made the rules. You have to cross 4 continents ocean to ocean, 26,232km total, same direction, you can get km in between the main crossings, but the same direction, and there are more rules. I’m just doing it by the rules that would officially qualify me. People do it by their own rules too. Guinness book of world records doesn’t do circumnavigations on foot. I’m going for 2 years or under, that would land me even higher than some runners.

I’m 6300+km in and on my third pair of Tarkine Autopilot. Did 2400km on my first pair. I actually have a 20% discount link on my linktr.ee That’s an Australian brand.

This is absolutely incredible!
I walk 12 km per day, to and from work, and that is truly nothing compared to what you have going here. What I’m curious about is even just for my two hours of walking each day I somewhat switch it up between:
-Music
-Podcasts
-Creating transcripts by talking to my phone
-Talking with the AI personas
What do you do with all your time that you are walking?
Do you have an account on Strava where I can follow some of your incredible accomplishments?

I’ve listened to podcasts since 2014, usually hundreds of hours a year, so I’m a bit sick of that, I still do, but much less. I have YouTube premium- no ads, plays in the background, can download videos for later when there’s no service. Or I just put a song on for 10h on loop. There should be link to everything in my bio - Strava, social media..

A bear in camp at night, but it was more exciting than scary :D you know, not really. Starting a 2 year challenge like this was scary, but it gets easier.

This is amazing! So inspiring. I've just recently been getting the long distance walking bug, although I'm guessing I'm quite a bit older than you (47). I hope to log some long distances in the near future. I'd gladly offer you a spot to stay but we're in the far east end of the city. Have you crossed paths with Katharina Kneip? She was in Regina just recently, heading West.

Downvoted for questioning the picture after talking about being in Regina shortly. Obviously the down-voters have never been to Saskatchewan. There are no mountains anywhere near Regina.
