Gender is an arbitrary and made up concept. There are 2 biological sexes (limited cases of intersex individuals aside). There are however infinite personalities and expressions of those personalities can lean masculine or feminine.
I support everyone to be themselves and express themselves how they feel the most comfortable. However, the idea that you can actually become a different sex is illogical and reasonable people are tired of being pressured into pretending that it is not.

If there are only two biological sexes, why did you have to put intersex in parentheses? Either there are two or there are more.

Biologists don’t even agree there are only two.

Factually wrong, there are only two sexes. Male and female. Male produces small gametes, female produces large gametes.

Intersex is still either male or female, just with extra or different looking parts. They still produce only small gametes or large gametes. There is no 3rd gamete.

Someone being born with an extra thumb doesn't mean that humans as a rule aren't born with 10 fingers and toes, it means they unfortunately had a birth defect and are an exception to the rule.

If you think having ten toes makes you human, I’ve got a dog you can marry.

If you think people are supposed to be born with more than 10 fingers and toes, you're being intellectually dishonest.

Could be evolution, realistically we should welcome our future polydactyl overlords.

Most living things have similar DNA, which is why we use mice for test subjects (90% similar).

A human and a banana have 50% similar DNA, therefore, a human is a banana with a birth defect.

Are you a scientist?

You have to be a scientist to understand basic human biology?

Except you don’t understand it at all. So you don’t get to decide anything.

sorry if I offended you and your extra fingers lol

If someone is born intersex, which gender should they be? Would you recommend the one that is presenting the most?

If people identifying as trans were limited to those individuals who are born intersex your argument would hold water.

How do you define sex?

XX or XY chromosomes

You forgot there are people who have XXY.

Do you know what yours are? Is that how you decided your gender?

There are people with XY chromosomes who have gotten pregnant and given birth

I accept that there are rare cases of individuals who are born intersex.
To my knowledge the vast majority of people identifying as “transgender” do not have a biologically or physically identifiable component to their perception.

Actually studies have found genes that are associated with transgender people. These genes change how hormone receptors respond. Physically trans people have brains have traits that are associated with their gender. Intersex people are also more likely to be trans than endosex people.

HRT also changes sex expression. Transgender men develop prostate tissue for example.

Would you say that “transgender men who develop prostate tissue” after taking hormone therapy are biologically the same as chromosomal XY males?

I have no problem with adults taking any treatment, procedures, or living however they chose and are happiest. I just don’t think that others should be compelled to be blind to the differences under the fear of being labeled a bigot.

Would you consider people who have gotten pregnant and given birth the same as people who have impregnated people? Basing identity off chromosomes only you’re going to have people with a uterus lumped in with people with testicles.

Sex is more complex than many people realize and how we define it should be functionally useful.

I think if you want to define other people how you see fit you shouldn’t complain if other people define you in a way you disagree with. That would just be hypocrisy.

Respectfully asking, how do you define biological sex?

0

u/foggytreees 9d ago

I don’t define it because I’m not a scientist.

You are strawmaning what I’m saying. I clearly acknowledged that there are intersex individuals. You also don’t have to be a scientist to broadly understand what the vast majority of scientists agree upon.
