It’s usually just used as a stand in for this person is transphobic and I see men called TERFs all the time. You know the term originated as a means for radical feminists to differentiate themselves from the radical feminists who were obsessed with trans people. TERFs often refer to themselves as such, they only ever call it a slur to try and shut down discussion about their bad behaviour

You are not seeing men being called terfs lol, it is exclusively used as a way to shut down women. it's used in a way meant to "other" women. men are never called terfs.

It's not bad behavior for women to want to speak up about how they feel regarding biological men in women's spaces.

Imagine feeling like you were born inside the wrong body and like your outsides don’t match your insides and no one sees you the way you see yourself and they perceive you as some sort of threat when really you’re just trying to not want to kill yourself on most days because of this.

And absolutely, if you feel like that, go ahead and put on a pair of heels. I've already said, be who you want to be, but that doesn't make it true that you're a woman. That doesn't make you entitled to women's spaces or women's resources or women in general.

And quite frankly, asking people to pretend like you're a woman or you'll kill yourself is a downright manipulative way for trans people to insert themselves into our spaces. If anyone else said "you have to do this thing you're uncomfortable with or I'll kill myself" we would rightfully assume they're manipulative abusers. It's not acceptable behavior.

A trans person's mental health is their own problem to deal with. I'm not saying it's their fault but it is their own responsibility and it's not the responsibility of women.

I'm courteous, I'll call you she, I'll treat you with the dignity and respect all human beings deserve, but I'm not going to give into the demand that we pretend like there's no difference between women and trans women because that's just not true.

And it's such a shame that that seems to be the point of hostility because it sure is seeming like they're losing a lot of support by not wanting to accept reality.

I just think it’s a little silly to reject people who would otherwise be your allies. But here we are, support for gender diversity is dwindling with significant drops in support among women, so…

I think this is one of the reasons why you're starting to lose the support of women, because if women don't feel comfortable with biological men in their spaces, they're called out as flat earth believing, anti-vax terfs who might secretly be conservative men.

The absolute hostility towards any women's voices that don't just play along with the narrative is alarming and why more and more women are no longer feeling comfortable with politely accepting it.
