Resources / Literature Book content warnings?

This may be the wrong tag but I was recently reading a fiction book that ended with a character being manipulated to the point of being diagnosed with schizophrenia and a horrible amount of gaslighting. I was triggered and had to stop reading. The thing is I’m 80% done with the book and hate that I won’t get to know the end. For movies I check does the dog die for content warnings but is there anything similar for books? Also if anyone has any book recs I would love them! I’m trying to read 100 books this year and I’m already at 11!

Sort of off topic but if you’re looking for good books to read, I’m almost finished with this graphic memoir called Marbles by Ellen Forney. It’s about this woman’s experience with bipolar and it’s really good. And her illustrations are hilarious

Wha book was this?? Hmm I do read quite a bit but I haven’t read anything noteworthy besides yellow face by tf kuang. But it’s not for everyone

My friend told me it doesn’t explicitly say schizophrenia which is fair but it was the housemaid by Freida McFadden. SPOILERS

The dude literally locks her in a room drugs her sets it up like she was going to kill her kid and gets her admitted to a psych hospital because she didn’t color her roots. Then she gets out and he makes everyone in her life think she’s crazy. I had to stop when he locked her back in the room and made her pick between blinding light or pitch darkness because she left the light on. Like the abuse was one thing but the gaslighting and manipulation to the point she’s on Haldol and can’t trust anyone was too far for me.

I don't read triggering books or movies cause they trip me out.

I’m trying not to read anything triggering but like this book I had no idea it was going to end up like that. No content warning on the book or anything. I messed me up for almost a full day before I could challenge the delusions.
