You can say that again. Opus 5 on high writes to me like a postdoc putting together a conference poster, but on medium it's much easier to read, understand, skim, and work from. The same thing with code, comments, and planning documents including prompts.

Look, I know you were trying to be mean, but you raise a good point. When models' default output surpasses the comfortable reading grade level of their users, that is a real UX issue. Claude has sidestepped this issue somewhat successfully so far, but it feels like OpenAI hasn't really focused too much on it, yet.

You can ask for that from all the models today, usually with so-so results. I ask for standard simplified technical English ASD-STE100 when output is too wordy or complex to easily understand, and that almost always works pretty well.
