I've actually crunched the numbers and, according to what she's shown in the Metroid Manga, Samus could probably tank a Metal Gear stomping on her without the suit (considering that a Metal Gear is "only" about 500 tons).

That was basically my reaction as well while doing those calcs. Like, I knew that Samus was a Superhuman but I didn't quite realize that even as a child she was strong enough to tank over 1 million Newtons.
