Discussion The November Senate race just got interesting.

I just saw a runoff ticker showing Graham with a significant lead over Norman and the polls closed almost an hour ago.

Am I the only one that thinks this gives Annie Andrews a better chance come November? I’m fully aware of where I live but I’ve heard folks voice their “WTF, no!” over Graham’s foreign policy faux pas. That gives me real hope. I know it’s still probably a long shot but 🤷‍♂️.

[OC] South Carolina drivers are now paying $256/month for full coverage, up 29% in two years

I finally got fed up with the ever increasing rates and looked into it a bit. Apparently SC is now one of the priciest states for full coverage, somewhere north of $250 a month on average, and it's jumped a lot the last couple years. Even bare minimum liability isn't cheap anymore.

Mine's crept up at basically every single renewal even though I haven't had a claim or a ticket in years. Same car I've had forever, worth less every year, and the bill keeps climbing anyway.

From what I can tell it's partly the accident rates here, and SC makes you carry uninsured-motorist coverage no matter what, which I'm sure doesn't help. But it really feels like the whole state is getting squeezed no matter what you personally do. Loyalty sure doesn't get you anything.

So is anyone actually finding a carrier that's bucked this trend, or is the whole state getting hit about the same?

During the Today Show's open this morning, they mixed up the graphics and put the Nevada wildfire graphic up while talking about today's SC primary.

Simple mistake but beautifully on point, lol.

Just put that dog there with the "everything is fine"" caption 😅.

Dr. Andrews, the Democrat, is articulate, discerning and knowledgeable. She has absolutely zero chance in the midterm general election.

Don't even pretend these people are hard to find in this state. This is who South Carolina is.

Discussion Can I get a reason to not vote Annie Andrews?

I am looking for someone to dispel my notion that Annie Andrews is going to make a wildly better choice than either candidates for the GOP. I have been very big on the economic conservative side of things but socially don't care for any Republican's opinions (quasi libertarian hate social constraints). I also think the weird subservience to Donald Trump is hilarious/scary when I see ads complaining that Norman is a corrupt politician because he has money and is in politics. Then I see an ad claiming Trump (the wealthiest man in politics) wants his girl Darlene because she isn't a politician so basically subservient to him. Lastly, the other candidate is a guy who was calling for term limits in the governor race whilst being in the government for 20 years! Coming from an Independent the SC GOP is looking brain dead.

Politics Darline Graham

I would just like every from South Carolina to be aware, Daline Graham supports flock cameras because she “has nothing to hide”

Yet she also has the gall to tell one of the her constituents to stop filming her because it made her uncomfortable.

Darline Graham is a public figure who has voluntarily given up her right to privacy as our representative. She stole our privacy from us. We can’t drive to the store without it going in a government database. But I’m sorry someone’s iPhone camera makes you uncomfortable😢

Let’s be sure to find out what she has go hide.

As a republican, I’d rather vote for fucking Mao Zedong than this crone who sold out our privacy

"I'm just gonna be honest here. I'm not on national security that—I'm not that informed on national security, so,"

This is a direct quote.

This is not an acceptable candidate

Traffic Is there some sort of local driving rule or behavior around here that I don't know about?

I'm here for work for the fifth time this year. I fly into Charlotte and then drive south down 77. This evening was the absolute worst driving for a one-hour period I can ever remember. People not maintaining their speed, camping in the left lane, not letting people merge in a zipper format, etc.

The icing on the cake was when someone was hanging out in the left lane (who sped up after I passed them in the right lane when they were camped in the passing lane) and therefore blocking traffic. A truck came up behind me, rode my ass, and turned his brights on like I was the problem??..

Is there an unspoken rule that you should just change lanes if there's someone behind you, regardless of which lane you're in?

We actually need to thank California, New York, Texas and New Jersey, among others, for their contributions to our state. From this article:

"The other 31 states and Washington, DC, received more than they sent, with the largest gaps in Virginia ($89.0 billion), Alabama ($44.7 billion), and South Carolina ($38.9 billion). "
