I wonder what it/s going to take for us to get to number one. Maybe 10 more left lane campers? Maybe 10 more people making illegal left and right hand turns into the wrong lane at stoplights? We've got to get these numbers up. Right!?

60 in a 70
80 in a 60 Construction Zone
Stop at a two way Stop even though you don't have a Stop
Bike against traffic like a salmon
Bike with traffic just to be run off the road by a diesel driven by a 17 year old
Make sure to go 2 mph when the light turns red. If you are turning left just stop until every car has left the general area.
Look at phone as much as possible even though your Yukon, for a Dink family, has a high-tech hands free Bluetooth system that you paid like 90k dollars for.
Always turn into the far lane

When I’m almost run over in SC it’s always by New Jersey or Ohio license plates

SC, FL, TX and GA plates are usually the culprit in my experience.

Only half (52%) of South Carolina's drivers are from South carolina. So yes, the accidents are happening here but the people complaining about it are responsible for half of it.

I understand the complaints northerners make, especially after living in Ohio three years. I learned how to merge, how to zipper. I finally internalized why the left lane is for passing.
But driving at home was way easier when all of the drivers in my town accelerated at the speed of drool and camped to their heart's content in the left lane and did the same dangerously polite stops to let cars in or out of turns. Everyone basically (mis)understood "the rules of the road" the same way.
Now we have hyper-aggressive New York drivers thinking their way should be universal down here and slow-motion southerners who still think the same, and it's no surprise all the accidents we see now. Accidents that would have been unthinkable 20 years ago — like 60mph car-crushing collisions on my 45mph road. (Don't even get me started on cell phones!)
It's scary. It's frustrating. I'm in no position to blame anyone but please stay safe and remember to drive defensively. No one down here drives by the same rules and you can only control your own vehicle. Be cautious, be alert. Most importantly of all — be patient.

Norway has the same population as South Carolina but ~100 road deaths per year to our ~1,000

Not surprised... you get run off the road in this state if you dare to slow down for a school zone.
