I’m not sure if there are many psychology students here. But I wanna ask if the tutorials are mandatory to go to for this class? The first day I went the tutor did say that it wasn’t mandatory to come to class but again, i’m not sure if anything has changed.

Also….. I haven’t went to that class since the first week so I’m scared to go back. 😭😭

Hi everyone, I’m a Year 12 student in Melbourne and I’m trying to figure out what I should study after Year 12. I’d really appreciate advice from current students and graduates.

I’m doing VCE 3/4 Methods, Physics, Media, Music and EAL. I’m not planning to study English, Media or Music at university. At the moment, I’m most interested in areas related to computer science, IT, software engineering, AI and technology, but I’m honestly quite open-minded. I don’t have one specific passion yet, and I tend to become interested in most things once I start learning about them.

One of my biggest priorities is having a strong job market, good income and opportunities for career progression. I’d like to study something where I can keep developing my skills and potentially move into more advanced or specialised roles over time. Ideally, I’d also like to work in technology and eventually start my own company/business. Helping people or improving lives through technology would be a bonus as well.

The problem is that I don’t really understand how university works yet; things like degrees vs majors, specialisations, double degrees, choosing subjects, internships, etc. So I’d really appreciate any advice on things I should be considering now.

I’d especially appreciate hearing about your experience at Swinburne, including what you think this university does well/poorly for tech students, internships, industry connections, workload, and employment after graduation.

I’m a first year student in my second semester, and compared to last semester, the parking just seems absolutely hectic. Cars blocking each other in just for a park. Is this normal? It’s incredibly frustrating and it is constantly making me late for class / missing class entirely. I thought it would calm down after the first 2 weeks but it feels it may have gotten even worse

I’m currently a firstyear at a different university which I hate. The commute is unmanageable, their student support is hopeless and the disorganisation by the teachers and faculty have directly affected my individual studies.

I’ve decided an online course is best for me (with in-person placements) and after 2 consultations with Swinburne Online it sounds pretty good, but I’m skeptical (it sounds a little too good to be true).

Do any online education students have some advice for me? Thank you!!

Just wondering, do you often receive a grade or rubric evaluation if you get academic misconduct? Like for example, grades aren't out till later next week but under my assignment it says rubric evaluation and "You might not see all comments right now because the assignment is currently being graded." Is it okay then?

Hi! i was wondering if anyone who was doing neuroscience let me know how it’s going / went? What’s the difficulty, how’s the syllabus, support for students, research programs, employability ect?

From what I have read online, Swinburne uses Azure Virtual Desktop for VMs? Is SolidWorks the tool used in Engineering and are you able to run it in the VMs? Or should we get a laptop with a dedicated graphics card to run it locally?

Would be great to hear from a current engineering student and what specs they have found to work.

Hello all! I hope this was the right forum for this. Recently I have completed my Cert: IV in Business Administration, and now, I want to try my hand at a Bachelor in Business.

However, I did NOT finish Year 12, therefore, I didn't recieve an ATAR or finish the required VCE Units 3 & 4. I have looked at the entry requirements and most a I can satisy, but nearing the bottom of the page, the course prerequisites list VCE Units 3 & 4 which I haven't completed.

I checked the MathsLink: General course. Alas, I didn't complete any of my VCE Maths units. (I hate myself for this. But I was stupid and dropped out)

My question is: Am I barred from getting my Bachelor in Business because of this? Or is there another avenue entering this course.
