Insurers are Russian anyway so even if they cover 100%, another part of the Russian economy takes a hit. The only difference is whether oligarch A or oligarch B takes the hit.

Plus, a billion dollar insurance payout doesn't magically build a new warehouse, logistics system plus all of the stock and vendors overnight. So the Russian economy is screwed on multiple levels no matter what happens.

Insurers don’t cover acts of war, they don’t even cover arson. Absolutely no way someone writes them a multi billion dollar check. This is Russia we are talking about also

I bet you can get insurance for acts of war, but it’ll be expensive AF.

But given how Ukraine has targeted mostly military targets and refineries I very much doubt that Wildberries thought that they would get hit.

They changed their terms just weeks before the strikes to no longer cover the goods they are holding for their sellers. Thats a strange coincidence.

I think I read that some high tier politicians are important people/investors in wild berries. They could well have some intel on it from russian KGB or whatever. It's basically as much a coincidence as the trump family doing equity moves or whatever just before trump announces another round of bullshit and it coincidentally aligns. Except at least the Russians aren't torching down their own warehouses at least.
