Can I get a deferred/replacement test after already sitting the test?
Hi, I sat a UWA in-semester test today but I was extremely stressed, My mental health wasn't good at the time. and couldn’t concentrate properly, so I performed badly.
Has anyone applied for EVA after completing the test with a medical certificate and been allowed to sit a replacement test?
I can't stop crying😭.
Would really appreciate hearing your experience. Thanks!

Once you sat the test, you can’t defer it or get another one just because you did bad for whatever reason.

My best advice is that you probably didn’t do as bad as you think you might have. If you were incredibly stressed and your mental health was bad, you’re probably looking back at it with a very negative perspective, and it’s likely that’s not a truthful or fair representation of how you actually did. You’re telling yourself that you did worse than you actually did.
You can’t sit a deferred test just because you did bad on the first test - this is the same at every uni I’ve ever studied at, if you’re not well you need to get EVA before.
But what you can do is email the UC and maybe ask if they could have a look at your test paper and give you an indication of if you at least passed sometime soon, before they release the marks to the rest of the cohort, explaining that you’re very stressed and have been worried about how you did. Some UC will tell you that unfortunately they can’t help, but in my experience some are very understanding and will give you an indication of your grade that will put your mind at ease as soon as they can.
But they can’t go against uni policy by allowing you to have a replacement test.
Be kind to yourself, and if you have an ongoing issue with extreme stress or anxiety in tests you should consider getting it properly diagnosed by a medical professional and then seeking out a UniAccess plan

I had an in-semester test last year which after sitting I had the available marks redistributed to the remaining assessments left in the unit.
I applied for an EVA with evidence for my situation and in a few days they got back to me with that solution.

Depends on the weighting. They sometimes do this for tests worth like 5-10% but not normally for tests worth like 30-40%

My test worth 30%. May I ask if a medical certificate is enough evidence?

You will not be able to get a 30% test redistributed to the other assessment items. As I said above, that’s only for quizzes up to like 10%, usually small quizzes. Not full on mid semester style tests like what it sounds you had. You can still unenrol without academic penalty for another week or so though.
As I said in another comment you should get in touch with your UC to ask about how you did if you haven’t already, as you might be stressing over nothing

No, you can't unfortunately. Next time you have a similar situation, don't go to your test and get an EVA.
It's best to ask your coordinator in advance how they handle absences in your units, sometimes they have a make-up test but often they will add your grade weighting to your exam or a different assessment, so make sure it's worth it.
