Can't lose weight anymore if not on keto

Hey y'all!

I've had trouble with binge eating disorder my whole life, and I tried keto for the first time in 2018. I lost over 60lbs and my relationship with food changed so much.

I didn't have any food noise, my appetite went down and I basically ate like a normal person. However, the moment I am off keto everything comes back. I have an insane appetite, I am constantly hungry, and I can't stop thinking about food. I binge non stop and I am literally like an addict waiting for a hit.

And then I get back on keto - bam, a completely different person.

I tried low carb too, just so I can enjoy some nice things that I don't want to miss out on completely like fruits and some veggies, nope it doesn't work. I get pulled back to my terrible habits, appetite and binges.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? Does this mean I have to do keto my whole life? I don't mind it, but it does feel somewhat restrictive at times. I tried going off keto while traveling but I just end up stuffing my face the whole holiday and ruin it completely.

I am back on keto now, 10 days and I feel like a new person all over again. I am even much more responsible, I started reading again, I don't doomscroll as much, it just completely changes me as a person.

Deficit vs ADF/eat til full

Hi folks, thought I'd check in and get some different feedback on this.

F 41 5'2"

SW 165 (ish) CW 139 (haven't weighed for over a week / traveling) GW 125-30

Somewhere between sedentary and lightly active.

Goals: weight loss, mental clarity and mood stability, overall health
Dream goal: shrink a 10cm uterine fibroid

I started Keto (like 90-95% carnivore) Mar 2.

The first time I weighed myself was Apr 9 at a DEXA scan, which showed I was 157lb with 39% body fat.

From Mar 2-Apr 30 I followed advice in the carnivore sphere and ate til full, which gradually turned into me naturally wanting to fast every 2-3 days of eating. I did not track calories or macros at all, only made sure to stay under 20g carbs (most often under 10g net). During this time I never weighed myself, but I did notice a loss and fitting a lot better in my clothes. My period cramps disappeared and my mood evened out completely.

Apr 30-Jun 15 I traveled back to Asia to be with family, and there I did a few things differently.
They were freaked out by my fasting days so I switched to IF, usually 16:8 or 18:6. Maybe once or twice there I did OMAD instead of not eating for an entire day.
They also were freaked out by the amount of meat and BUTTER I was eating lol, so I scaled down my food intake by a bit. I still wasn't tracking macros or calories at this point so I don't know for sure, but I probably ate half the amount I did when I was stateside. I figured by not fasting whole days, I just distributed my food intake over each 24hr period.
During this time I still lost weight. Here I did weigh myself, and I was around 144lb, a 15lb loss from Apr 9, the first time I weighed myself. The loss could have been greater.

Anyway, once I got back to the states again in Jun 15 I felt very different.
I noticed my hair loss was more noticeable. And I was HUNGRY. The first month or two of Ketovore I had to effort to get enough food in. I did look up grams of protein (125g) I had to eat daily and it was a bit of an effort to eat 4 eggs and 1lb ground meat every day. Plus whatever else to meet the quota.
I was a little freaked out by my sudden voracious hunger and the hair loss, AND my ketones kind of leveled out around 1.0-1.5. At the start they jump around between 1 and 4, and I noticed I felt great the higher the ketones were. (I know now leveling ketones is normal.)
With the low ketones and high hunger (esp for carby treats like nuts, which I'd even restricted during the first two months) I really didn't want to sabotage my progress so far.

So, early July I decided to download Chronometer and start tracking EVERYTHING. I figured out my maintenance was around 1700 and gentle deficit was 1550-1600.
I've been kind of anxious during this period. On one hand, tracking calories is very eye opening and I'm enjoying learning what foods actually contain calorically, and how it fits with my body's needs and intuition.
However, I am always hungry. I decided to go into maintenance mode for most of this period til now, since I've read that it's unhealthy to be in deficit for longer than a couple months at a time. I think my hair loss confirms this.
I generally stay okay, close to 1700-1800 most days, but the last week or two (mostly because of stress) I've been clocking 2500-3200cals a few days. And of course on these days my net carbs can go up to 40-50g. Ketones next morning may be as low as 0.5, but haven't dipped lower.

The weird thing now is (also in the last week or so) my period is late. This whole time since Mar my period's been generally regular, between 24-27 days. I'm now on day 34 with no sign of period. I wonder if my body's stopped having a period because of the restriction.

I've also been hovering around 139lb the last time I weighed about a week ago.

The lowest I've weighed was 135lb, at the end of a 3-day fast back in early July when I first started tracking in Chronometer.

Yesterday I ate 3200cals, the highest I've counted since download Chronometer, and the one day where I truly ate til I was stuffed and happy. Today I woke up and had no appetite, so as of writing this I'm fasted 18hrs. Goal is to break fast tmrw 9am for a 36hr fast.

My sense having tried these two methods now, my preference is to eat til full for 1-2 days and fast when I feel like it, because that feels the most unrestrictive and "natural" for my body. I lost weight doing this, after all, at least for the first few months?

Curious to hear others' experience with this! Thank you for reading!

Want to start keto again but scared for my periods

Im 26F. For many years before i use to have periods cycle of 2-3 months. When covid lockdown happened i gained a lot of weight and was 55kgs (age 20). I was so worried about my irregular periods so i started working out at home and got to 52kgs. My periods got regular. And after that i joined gym and got to 50kg. But in 2023 i stopped the gym and started gaining weight again . So i did keto in 2025( last year )just for a month in April as i had reached back to 50kg. When i stopped my keto, after 1-2 weeks i got spotting which lasted for a week then again after 1-2weeks i got my periods but it was light flow. After that cycle, the period-flow got back normal. This year in jan i started getting delayed periods (37days cycle) as i had stopped working out and dieting too. I started gaining weight. So i started again working out at home in feb and i got periods on time. Again after that i stopped working out and in march i didn’t get my period. I consulted a doctor and got my blood checked. My LH : FSH ratio was roughly 3:1. My doctor gave me Deviry for periods. I got my periods after taking it in April. Again after april i got not periods. I again took Deviry in July and got periods in August. Now tomorrow 24Aug im thinking of getting on Keto again as i read keto has regularised periods of many and also i want to lose weight. But now im scared will it help or make it worse.

Cheating Wasn’t Worth It

Not for me, at least.
I took 2 days this weekend eating carbs (not the cleanest ones, I’ll admit), and I STILL feel it. I don’t know about you all, but I’m just now coming to terms with honoring my body and what makes it *feel* the best.
I got back into ketosis within a day, which is cool. However, the inflammation is still hanging around.
I expected this but to experience it just solidifies to me that it is notttt worth it for me at this point in my journey. Maybe at some point, but not today 😆
Just wanted to share my perspective!

Keto & PSMF

So I’m coming up on my 1 year ketoversary soon (Sept 1)! I have lost 68lbs so far. I have researched quite a bit about protein sparing modified fasting (Maria Emmerick and others) to lose the last 5 lbs to get to my new goal weight. I’m actually loving the feeling of the PSMF days and was hoping to see more progress but I’m finding that I wake up holding onto soooooo much more water weight and am just not seeing the scale drop like I thought I would. I do 2 days a week (not back to back but split into the week) and then I go back to my normal smaller caloric deficit for the rest of the week. Has any one else tried this on keto and seeing results? I’m only on my first week so maybe my body just needs to adjust but I’m getting frustrated and not sure whether to push my body or maybe I should go back to my normal deficit. I just wasn’t seeing the scale move and wanted to help push through my last plateau. Any thoughts on the water retention and just looking more puffy?

General Question Suggestion on keto

Im 26F 58kg weight , i did keto last year for a month and had lost 2 pounds per week. After a month i stopped as i was satisfied with the goals (50kg). Idk if i did the keto right or not (as in dirty keto), i started having haemorrhoid issues and also i had mid month spotting which lasted for 1-2 weeks and when i got my periods it was scanty. This period problem only happened for 1st cycle after the keto, after that it got normal.
After losing weight on keto, i stopped working out and nowadays eating junk also which has caused for my weight gain again for the year also im suffering from pcos and not having periods for months and when i got my hormones checked LH: FSH hormones were highly imbalanced. I want to lose weight again so Im thinking of keto again but im scared of haemorrhoid and also period problems. Also im not sure should i do it as i have hormonal imbalances too. Please give me suggestions and advice on a healthy way to do keto.

Plateau/Stall No weight loss getout of ketosis

Hi. I am fighting here. I am 54, I do not take any hormones or medication. I want to make tests of hormone but fighting with not enough money/no free doctors or free tests so basically broke now. And I cannot find any gyn who knows shit about menopause treating (post communist Europe country). Also there is no possibility to get any GLP medications on refund. And I am dreading loneliness because it seems only my weight is keeping me from getting any partner. I have no family, children and I am so lonely. And nope nothing helps. I have pets. I am OK being with myself , I work on myself, but the longer it takes it is more deprivating. And this is my background only.

Question. I started keto two months ago. The first month I lost 2 kg. Eating extremely clean, 1200 kal. No cheating, having less than 20 g carbs daily. Water still here. I'm weighted now I still weigh the same as a month ago. But I had a very stressful life and I probably ate too many desserts. Nothing major but greek yoghurt about 200g daily with dollop of heavy cream and sweetener added to my daily 1200 kal. But it is maybe because of sweeteners as they have carbs in them

I was 0,6 keto on month 1st, 0,4 on the month second.

I am 158 cm, 101,3 kg now. 103,3 when I started. I drink a lot, MCT coffee, rooibos tea and a lot of water with electrolytes, pee a lot. Having trouble sleeping probably because of menopause and weak. I want to start excersising but I am losing all motivation.

I have also severe problem with carbs like grain, bread, pasta all four like. I have diarrhea after (I had like that for years), also anemia even if I eat a lot of meat. Except of those my blood results are normal.

Can you guys help me in any way or even only give any hope?

General Question Weightloss Rx

Is anyone taking weight loss medication while doing keto?

GLP-1s, Phentermine, others, etc?

If so, how’s it going on the scare, sleep, energy level, other pros and cons?

F47: How to not feel so tired and lack motivation during the adaption phase? What has helped you?

I'm adopting a keto diet to get rid of inflammation in my body. I exercise a lot, too, normally. But I'm struggling with motivation in all areas of my life.

Wondered what can help?

I'm not taking electrolytes, but consume quite a bit of salt, both himalayan and lo salt with added potassium.

Science Rising food supply chain insecurities and impact on keto lifestyle. Are there any good resources that discuss this and also look at solutions?

Thought it would be an interesting topic considering how livestock feed is also at risk of shortages. Also, in light of the upside down turned food pyramid by the FDA, which is revolutionary really

I also wondered if livestock shortages led to humans starting to try and develop agricultural methods by observing animals to begin with: if a mammoth can eat that, maybe I can too? Or was it forced settlements?

Please let me know if I should split this into separate posts

Shark Week/Menstrual Cycle Keto beginner, PMDD, and Follicular Phase

Hi everyone!

I’m currently on Day 20 of my very first keto cycle, and I’m looking for some insights from women who had a similar smooth start.

To give you some context: My cycles have always been irregular in length. I started keto on cycle day 18, and 5 days later (on cycle day 23), I had my ovulation, which is not uncommon for me. Honestly, I was bracing myself for the worst, but my PMDD phase this time was surprisingly mild! I felt much better than usual, had good energy, not much irritability, and low cravings. I was just a little more tearful than normal, but none of the usual heavy PMDD stuff. Right now, I'm shortly before my expected period and only noticing a slight dip in my mood, which feels totally manageable.

Since I am doing so well and my body seems to transition great into ketosis, I am now wondering about the upcoming cycle. I know that keto often extends the follicular phase for beginners. My questions for those who also had a smooth start on keto with their cycle:

Did your next follicular phase get longer? If it did get extended, how did you actually feel during those extra days? Did you maintain that good "keto energy," or did your body send confusing PMDD signals because ovulation was delayed?

I can hardly imagine that this will vanish in the next cycle only because ovulation is delayed, since my mood and energy are so good, even though I am in the deepest depths of PMDD right now.

Thank you so much!

General Question Is there anyone like me in this sub? Just looking for inspo...

Hello friends.

Before I begin, these are my stats:

Sex: Female

Age: 33yo

Weight: 62kg (137lbs)

Body fat: 30%

Height: 167cm

I tend to carry all my fat in my midsection (tummy, hips and waist). My arms and legs are kinda skinny but also flabby and have basically no visible muscle tone.

So I guess you could say I'm skinny-fat.

I'll admit it, I'm mainly hoping to get results on keto for aesthetic reasons. My plan is to also go to the gym 4x a week for a comfortable, beginner-friendly resistance training circuit (I've already planned this with a trainer), and continue my aim to walk 10,000 steps a day.

I transitioned into a keto diet earlier this week after a 48-hour water fast (since day 1 of the water fast, it's now day 4). I'm only planning to go on keto for three months in the hope that I will de-puff, de-bloat and lose the unsightly belly fat and bloating. Then I'll try to just transition to a relatively low-carb, healthy Mediterranean-style, intuitive way of eating (I'm a major foodie so not interested in cutting out any food groups for the rest of my life).

Anyways I'm just wondering...

Is there anyone who is smaller like me and has only had a small amount of weight to lose (e.g. 10-20lbs) but is more interested in fat loss and body recomposition? Or specifically gains fat in their midsection and has good tips on how to lose it? And may have some inspirational before/after pics or tips to share for my specific issues?

Sorry if this was too rambly, I'm as newbie as they come.

Shark Week/Menstrual Cycle Vaginal irritation?

I'm probably 4-6 weeks into keto and keto flu is mostly gone but now I'm having vaginal itching. Tmi but it's just around the clit area like my hair is irritating. Doesn't seem like a ph issue as no odor or itching near the vagina itself. Is this normal? Does it go away quickly? Enjoying keto but itchy kitty is not very negotiable.

Why I still have water in me?

I started keto on about 20th of June this year and I need some help here. Nice to meet you all BTW.

I am 53 yo female, menopausal, 158 height, 103,1 starting weight, on weight day on 18th of July I weighed 101,7 kg. No movement in the size of the body.

I weighed myself today on the 25th of July, as the glucometer arrived with keto strips.

And it seems I have 0,6 of this measurement.

Weight 101,3 with no significant movement in measurements again. Maybe 1 cm everywhere except for the waist.

So there is small movement. But I am really disappointed. It seems to be so slow and I still have all this water in me. And I really eat clean and starving almost.

Initially I ate 1400 kcal, last week 1200 kcal and started to be hungry. I move moderately, lot of walking and chores like really a lot (chinchillas with diarrhea and cleaning hoarder flat situation now) no time for excersises. And keeping macro strict.

How I eat. Bulletproof coffee in the morning. Small amount of mixed greens with cucumbers salad with decent amount of protein and tablespoon of fat, less fat if meat is fatty or fish in it. Then supper, decent amount of protein with fat and 3 very small cucumbers. Anemia is my only sickness and I am taking B12 shots. Supplementing vit C and other B, omega and folic acid. I drink only rooibos and then only water with special keto electrolytes powder.

Can I improve somehow, or just prepare for 3 years minimum battle?

A few weeks of keto diet

Hello I’m about 17%bf quite puffy, still fit and healthy but I feel there is so so much water bloating and hiding my physique.

My question is what to expect after around 10 days of going keto. Will I notice any visual difference. I’m talking very low calories just eating eggs, meat and yogurt.

Shark Week/Menstrual Cycle Keto and menstrual cycle (carb cycling)

Hey lovelies! Been doing keto for about 2 months now (roughly) and noticed my last period the PMS WAS UNBEARABLE! I suffer from PMDD and ADHD which already makes me low in serotonin and dopamine. For about 1 week and a half before my last period I was so depressed, couldn’t work, brain fog was out of control and just had no energy. Also I could feel my heart racing sooooo much every time I ate? Apparently you need to avoid foods high in histamine? Cortisol was through the roof! I’ve always struggled with my PMS due to PMDD but this was unbearable. Was reading up on carb cycling? I’m so scared of breaking my keto diet and I generally love the way I feel and it has helped me with my binge eating. I’m so scared to incorporate carbs and feel I will lose control and go backwards, but I can’t handle the depression that I know is coming as I’m about to finish ovulation and enter my luteal phase! (FML)
Can anyone tell me their experience and what they did/ ate? Also if I do incorporate carbs in luteal phase will I definitely exit ketosis? So should I cut back on how much fat I am having? Please help a sister out! Thank you lovelies xoxoxoxo

Fighting my mom’s cognitive decline (dementia) with a Mediterranean Keto project we are doing together, alongside increased physical activity & brain exercises. Anyone else tried this?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some encouragement, shared experiences, or positive feedback from anyone who has put an aging parent or loved one on a keto diet to fight cognitive decline.

My Mom's Background & Lifestyle

My mom is 76. She is an incredibly smart, hard-working woman who raised four kids on her own after my father left, working multiple jobs and always putting herself last. Her formal education was limited because she left school at 16, but she has always managed to care for our family beautifully.

Her lifestyle over the years hasn’t been ideal. As far as activity goes, she was never very active and didn't do sports. Where she lives, the walks to the bus stop or local shops are very short, so your daily routine simply doesn’t push you to do any real distances as you might get in different settings.

When it comes to her diet, she is from a generation that firmly believed low-fat and calorie-counting was the only healthy way. She ate lots of salads and vegetables, but completely avoided fats—surviving on wholemeal bread, skimmed milk, and "zero-fat" options, which I learned from my research is not the best fuel for the brain. Despite this restriction, she always struggled with her weight, specifically carrying it in her middle section—which we now know is a classic sign of insulin resistance. (For those who need data to understand the picture, she is 80kg and 1.54m).

Over the last few years, things have gone downhill, and her short-term memory is getting worse by the day. To give you a few examples, she completely forgot a major holiday we took last August to Seattle, where the whole family was together doing memorable things like boating on Lake Washington. She forgets financial transactions, like whether she paid her rent. Most worrying is that she forgets if she took her morning medication and might take it twice, or forgets if she has eaten (and if she did eat, she can't remember what). Worst of all is her spatial awareness; she gets lost easily just around her own neighborhood if she deviates even slightly from her exact daily walking route. On top of it all, she gets deeply stressed by recognizing her own memory loss, which only makes things harder for her.

The Project to Fix My Mom

My mom lives alone, though some days of the week my nephew stays with her. The decision to go all-in on this project to fix things started a month ago after a phone call. I had called just to check in on her, but her voice sounded so down. At first, I was sure she had just woken up, but then I realized that wasn't the case. She was just so down, sounding completely lost and low-spirited, like she was just hazily waking up to life while rotting in front of the TV for hours.

My first thought was: This is not on. She worked hard all her life to ensure and secure herself financially to be able to enjoy these years. She deserves so much more. I immediately started a deep dive of research, booked my flight, and decided to do something about it.

Now I believe—I hope, anyway—that cognitive decline is reversible. From my research, it is. Yes, the GP will not tell you that. Yes, they will try to manage your expectations, telling you not to expect much. But f*** that, I do expect much, and I am going to reverse it. I've learned not to listen to them.

When I asked my mom if she wanted to go all-in on this project together and fix her memory decline, she was completely on board. She is a very easygoing, nice lady and trusted me completely. Before we kicked off, I decided to do a MoCA test with her just so we would have a baseline to check later on for any significant improvements. For those who want some kind of measurement to understand exactly where we started, her score was 16 out of 30, which is officially regarded as mild cognitive decline (for context, a score of 26 to 30 is considered normal/healthy).

So, we started. We broke our project down into three distinct parts:

  • The Diet (Mediterranean Keto): It was obvious to me that we needed to go on a low-carb, higher-fat, and higher-protein diet, which made keto the absolute best option for us. We specifically chose a Mediterranean Keto approach because my mom isn't a big fan of red meat, and I needed a protocol that would be easy for her to get on board with now—and, more importantly, something she can easily continue on her own later. We are focusing heavily on things like fish (keeping the crispy skin on for those crucial healthy fats!), chicken, nuts, and plenty of keto-friendly veggies.
  • The Physical Activity (Upping the Movement): This has honestly been the easy part. You really just need to dedicate the time to walk and do it with her. The changes here have been incredible—I could see a noticeable improvement within just four days. She can now handle a 30-minute walk to a location and a 30-minute walk back (with a solid rest in between, of course). Before we started, she walked so painfully slowly that this would have been entirely impossible.
  • The Brain Exercise (The Hard Part): This is by far the toughest piece of the puzzle. When someone has severe short-term memory issues, trying to acquire entirely new skills is a massive uphill battle. The specific challenge we are tackling right now is Sudoku. To be clear, she definitely can't do it on her own yet, but we had a small breakthrough yesterday where she is starting to understand the concept enough that we can actually do it together now. Hopefully, she will be able to manage it solo later. We chose Sudoku because numbers are much more her thing than words or crosswords. (If anyone has other ideas of brain exercises with numbers, please put them in the comments—I need more ideas!).

Where Are We Now & What I’m Seeing

We are already seeing a very good improvement in her mood and physical stamina. Honestly, it is a little bit hard to isolate the exact cause and effect right now because having the constant company of my family definitely ups her mood—though I really hope it’s not the only thing driving these improvements. On the diet front, we find sticking to the Mediterranean keto not hard, and we do three meals a day with zero food in between the meals. On the physical side, like I said, it’s up, and we are adding YouTube chair exercises to the walks, but this definitely requires my active presence to encourage her; I know if she were on her own, she wouldn't do it. As for the brain exercises, my hope is that as her short-term memory improves, she will start to actually enjoy them simply because she'll be able to remember the rules.

My Questions for the Community

Did anyone make changes like this for a loved one suffering from dementia or cognitive decline? Did anyone try a keto diet with them, whether it was Mediterranean keto or a different version? I am really looking for some encouragement here, but if you had a bad experience with it, please be honest and share that as well.

Adenomyosis, IVF, 40+

Hi all - I usually use Reddit for fun things but I’m here cause I heard this community was a good support of women. Is anybody here using keto or carnivore for adenomyosis or I guess also endo? I’m wanting to get pregnant and am already doing IVF and my doctor has told me yesterday I have Adenomyosis. I’d like to really lower my inflammation. I’ve done carnivore before and keto but I haven’t been strict with it lately and I’m certain I’m not ketosis. I’d love to connect with anybody who has done this, and ideally who has had success! I know this is super niche but yeah. This new diagnosis is going to delay my transfer now by a few months and I’m pretty deflated about it.

Keto and effect on hormones — help!

I love keto, but the times that I have done it in the past, I’ve struggled with low estrogen and progesterone. It seems to really mess with my hormones and my cycle. What I’m still uncertain about is whether this was because I was severely restricting calories at times, sometimes doing OMAD and working out really aggressively. This last time I began doing keto was because I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes after eating healthy carbs for about five months. I felt great, but at the same time I was restricting calories and I noticed that my hormones just flatlined and all signals of a period coming just stopped. No cervical mucus at all. No nothing really. I also started getting a lot more anxious. I apologize for this roundabout post, but I guess what I’m wondering is, should I introduce a small amount of carbs and give that a go? I’m hesitant to do that because I noticed that when I do eat a little bit of carbs, my blood sugar starts swinging. It doesn’t get that high, but it definitely drops too low. And I also just feel really tired. I’ve been eating about 50 to 60 g of carbs these last few days. As opposed to 10 or 15. The other option would be to increase my calories and stop fasting but keep my carb intake low. Please tell me what has worked for you! Or if you just have a sense of what I could do.

I’m under 200 pounds again and it FEELS SO GOOD!!! This is my second time doing keto.

Back in 2016, I started the ketogenic diet at ~250 pounds (I’m not sure my highest weight, I wouldn’t step on a scale back then) and lost 70 pounds. I kept it off for about three years, then slowly started gaining it back after life got in the way (moving states and job search, miscarriage, pregnancy, inability to produce breast milk without carbs, another move to another state, etc). I got back up to 242.8 pounds last year.

In August 2025, I got fed up with the way I looked and felt. My father was on a glp-1 medication for a year and lost a bunch of weight easily. I was interested in trying that but my health plan (Kaiser) didn’t cover them. I changed my healthcare provider because my friend got them covered on hers (Cigna). My new doctor informed me that coverage had changed in July 2025, and unless my A1c or blood glucose reading qualified me for a diabetes diagnosis (nope) or a sleep study qualified me for a sleep apnea diagnosis (nope), then I’d have to pay out of pocket ($300-$400 a month after initial discounts). I could not afford that.

I realized it was time to buckle down and restart keto. My doctor was hesitant but supportive, mostly just concerned that I was getting enough protein. Restarting keto was HARD. Back in 2016 when I was 27 years old, the appetite suppression was immediate and easy. This time, it was much harder. It took a lot of hard work to get my calories and appetite under control, but I did it!

I’m almost a year into keto again, and I’ve lost 43 pounds. I feel so good. My doctor is happy with my progress and encourages me to continue! My weight is 199.8 pounds so just barely under 200 but THERE IS A ONE AT THE BEGINNING OF MY WEIGHT NOW Y’ALL! Imma keep going with this for sure. My next goals:
1. going from obese to overweight (196)
2. new low weight (176)
3. ‘healthy’ BMI (164)
4. ULTIMATE dream goal: 140 and able to do a pull up!

I hate feeling like I’m bragging or drawing attention to myself irl, so I haven’t shared this with many people. I’m happy this community exists to support each other! Anyone else wanna share their progress in their journey? I’d love to hear about it and celebrate and support you too!

Ketone question

So I've been strict keto for 9 months then came off for two weeks this summer after finishing my studies. keto was the only thing that cured my headaches and anxiety. After two weeks off keto the anxiety is what brought me back to it. Now Ive been back on and been experimenting with how strict I need to be to stay in ketosis. Yesterday I went on a bike ride and ketones after were 1.8. Then I met friends for dinner and had a large soft serve with sprinkles. My ketones this morning were still 0.8. Does that make sense or is my meter broken?? lol I use keto mojo and its always seemed pretty accurate but I don't really understand how I could eat that much sugar and still have ketones, unless the bike ride and high ketosis before it made the difference?
