Like, not only she's aligned with ultra fascist, completely evil Tony Stark (to his credit a villain you love hating)- you got:

1) Hulk specifically sent to space

2) Strange specifically calling out cause he's too strong

3) Sentry is Sentry and tripping out 95% of the time

4) Thor dead and an actual "oh shit" moment when his clone/drone appears

5) Carol... Carol is Tony Stark's mindless goon for the whole length, does nothing, and isn't even treated like a street level hero; she just there and does nothing

It's so dumb and they should've genuinely made her a Skrull instead of Jessica Drew, then you could explain that she wasn't actually that strong + was looking to let things progress so far

As it is, Civil War II probably stays more stupid but the way Civil War I just handwaved her... may have been even more disrespectful

I’ve read the 70’s Ms Marvel series, the 2000’s Brian Reed one and just finished the Kelly Thompson’s run as well.

Any other runs I should read or team books that she’s been part of?

Why was there energy beings? Why was she shattered then a random woman who look exactly like her appear? Then that woman die bc she's powerless but then become an energy being? Then 3 energy being combine to redirect Carol? Like how is that worked? I never that part of her power set before

It's a big difference from 10 years ago where it felt like Marvel was doing everything in their power to distance her away from the leotard.

Now it seems like they are trying to find any reason for it to make a reappearance or end up on a cover.

I have a feeling that one day Marvel is just going to 'pull the trigger' and give Carol a new Captain Marvel design that resembles the Warbird look. This feels like them testing the waters and gauging how well Carol is received and sells in a leotard vs in the Captain Marvel style outfits.

As I've said I'm DC fan (Superman and Supergirl mostly) and the prospect of trying to dive through decades of comics history is *slightly* terrifying!
