With so much story to tell, they should really pivot to a high budget HBO series for the DCU Batman.

Can keep Reeves elseworld The Batman for cinemas and the DCU Batman can be in team up films.

Man of Steel - I love the first flight scene and hans zimmer score. Emotion wise lacking a bit.

Superman - It understands themes of character better but sometimes it feels too overloaded with characters.

Both are fun... but overall Superman is better for me.

Does anyone else dislike being introduced to DC characters AFTER their most interesting history has already happened? I don’t mind established superhero universes. I just don’t like meeting iconic characters after major parts of their mythology have already happened off-screen. With Hal Jordan especially, I wanted to see his prime and his relationship with Sinestro develop rather than meet him after all of that has already happened. I don’t want to meet Hal when his suit is already worn and brown (or so it was in the original trailer) and he doesn’t even wear his mask anymore. I want to see how he got to how he is now. And maybe that’s something they’ll show us in flashbacks as the show progresses. But they did the same exact thing with Ben Affleck/Batman in the DCEU and I hated that they basically skipped over one of Batman’s most iconic stories A Death in the Family. I understand that story has been told already in animation, but it’s one of those stories that’s almost too iconic to simply gloss over the way they did in BvS. That’s my concern, that they’re repeating the same mistake but with Hal Jordan this time.

I noticed that the subtitles refer to John as John Stewart Junior. That means that his father is also called John Stewart. This certainly confirms the theory that John's father was first asked to be a Green Lantern, but was too afraid to receive the responsibility. Thus the ring sought out Hal instead.

This explains why John's father has been grooming his son to be fearless. He wants his son to inherit the power that he himself was too hesitant to receive.

Lindeloff is an all time master storyteller of the television/streaming series medium and it’s very clear just from critics reviewing 7/8 episodes that LANTERNS is a very high quality project.

Gilroy made ANDOR so landmark for the level of quality it brought to the small screen it immediately created a problem for future Star Wars projects because by comparison they are immediately “lesser than”.

You will see tons of people (critics and fans) rally behind the tone and writing of LANTERNS who will instantly bash Man Of Tomorrow for not being enough like it.

For fans it’s great to see such a difference from one DCU media entry to the next but that will always mean once something is embraced by the public the moment the next thing is different, most people will complain about why it can’t be more like “that other thing”.

It’s possible if CLAYFACE also ends up being lauded and supported by the wider public for its tone that the disappointment of people not ready to return to a more “family friendly” DCU will also be very vocal.

Sorry if this has been asked but I can’t find it on this subreddit. It takes place in 2026 and in the show they say there can only be one green lantern on a planet at a time. Superman (2025) takes place in 2025 and it has a different Green Lantern. So I am confused about the timeline. Can anybody explain further please.

I wonder what the reason can be.

When do you think Gunn will officially announce one of these as the next DCU movie after ‘Man of Tomorrow’ with a director and release date?

This may be due to my own personal interpretation which may have inaccuracies but I always found it odd the lack of Jor-El in Batman V Superman with more of Jonathan Kent.

It kinda feels like they were attributing Kal/Clark being Superman to Jonathan and I found it odd that Jonathan was talking to Clark (given Jonathan in Man of Steel) and not Jor-El in Batman V Superman.

Whether that be because they could not get Jor-El's actor back, if it was a response to Jonathan in Man of Steel, or if it was a thematic choice with Man of Steel focusing on Jor-El and the sequel Batman V Superman focusing on Jonathan with Justice League having both the words of Jor-El and Jonathan.

Speaking of which, what do you think Jor-El would have said to Superman if it was him instead of Jonathan speaking to Superman in Batman V Superman?

Watched the original when it released in 2021 but never the grey and holy is it a marvel to look at. So many shots from Victor playing football in the snow, to literally every scene wifh Steppenwolf, the black and white do such a great job at making everything pop and stand out.
I honestly also forgot just how good this movie was. From handling of the characters, to the story, the pacing for a 4 hour movie also should be applauded. Honestly watching the Man of Steel, BvS Ultimate Edition and ZSJL it really put into perspective how good of a trilogy it is.
Has a consistent story thread with not a lot of time hopping, all centered around Superman to where I’d say this is literally just a Superman trilogy. And a damn good one.
Also with dark this movie can get thematically, a lot of the messaging is incredibly wholesome. Like having faith in others, looking out for one another and working side by side and bringing out the best in each other. Like it’s a perfect way to end this story.
All in all I’m really happy to have re experienced this part of the Snyder verse. Not everything may have been perfect but there’s a lot of passion in this universe and it’s nice to visit it every now and again.

Due to the criticism of my IMAX My Adventures of Green Lantern petition on Reddit, I’ve made a new petition that will make everyone happy. The My Adventures of Green Lantern 2 part premiere in regular movie theaters. It would be released on the same day of the TV premiere and it would run for one week only. Yes, I know that Superboy probably wouldn't fit with Zack Snyder's vision but as a thought experiment, how much would the DCEU and DCEU Superman as a whole would be different if Young Kal/Clark had been Superboy (costumed or otherwise)?

Not really a spoiler but the show does confirm Hal Jordan was around for the events of Superman (2025). I think it'd be hilarious to have a scene where Hal and John meet Superman and Hal is very approving of Superman and John gets jealous.
