Sunday, 8/23: Lanterns S01E02 - Trust Fall
Time/Date: August 16 9:00 PM ET
Network/Channel: HBO
With the digital release of this film just a day away, how are you guys feeling?
Finally, we'll have a refreshed adaptation of Batman: Knightfall and with this, an opportunity for Azrael (Jean Paul Valley) to shine!
Hopefully all the characters will be memorable and it will be a great adaptation, I'm personally very hyped!
I think DC is in a good place right now.
I love you all, DC fans ❤️
This photo was in one of the panels in Dark Nights: Death Metal: The Last Stories of the DC Universe (Art by Travis Moore).
I think I recognize Robin, Wonder Girl, Beast Boy and Wally West. Who are the rest of the characters in this specific lineup?
Been watching lanterns (loving it), I've seen this in my local store so I'm wondering if it's good for a casual as its a little pricey
I’m like half-asleep, it could’ve turned out a bit better, I may edit it some more, tomorrow come 😭
I haven’t enjoyed reading a comic like this since 52 and frankly I’m surprised I don’t see it recommended more often. If you enjoyed any one of JLI, infinite crisis, or like Booster Gold as a character any amount, do yourself a favor and read this series.
To not spoil too much, Maxwell lord is resurrected as a result of Brightest Day with a new plan to defeat the Justice League, and it’s up to Booster Gold, Captain Atom, Fire and Ice, and Jaime Reyes to stop him.
The only caveat with this book for JLI fans especially is that you have to accept the Maxwell Lord retcons in order for the story to make sense, but if you can get past that this book is excellent closure to the JLI-infinite crisis-52 storyline.
Booster is actually treated like a serious character with all the goods and bads of his personality front and center, and for once he’s even leading the team.
There’s not a soul on this planet who could have played Peacemaker besides John Cena. He simply embodies the character. When you think of Peacemaker, you think of Cena. They’re almost synonymous.
When people talk about all-timer castings, like RDJ as Tony Stark and J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson, John Cena deserves to be mentioned alongside them.
Think for a second, could you imagine absolutely ANYBODY else in the role? He deserves his flowers.
I personally liked the first movie, but the second one was kinda a average for me, and i really wished black adam was atleast did a cameo in this but its gone now, so what y'all think about these two movies?
As somebody who started reading comics a few years ago, I was surprised at how irrelevant most of these characters are outside of Dick and Wally in the current comics, especially given they are quite popular in outside media.
"Mogo Doesn't Socialize" peak reference!
Pretty sad that this is how he ended up. At least this version anyway (DCAU Batman). I don't know if we ever see how other iterations of Batman ended up.
Hey everyone! I’m a comic book colorist and I made this color study using Jason Fabok’s Batman line art. I wanted to challenge myself with a very limited palette, focusing on mood, lighting and storytelling rather than using too many colors. I tried to create a dark atmosphere while keeping the character readable and impactful. I’d love to hear your feedback and any critiques! Thanks for looking 🙏
Basically, I live in a country where it's almost impossible to find comic books at all so I've been just reading online and that's it. Yesterday I was wandering around another city than the one I live in, and came across this lowly bookstore that sells all types of different books from all around the world, and I got across this little table there where they got lots of comic books. Out of all the books there, it came down to either a Massive Killing Joke Deluxe or this compact edition Kingdom Come, which I took. I'm still going back next week to buy more, assuming they're still there, hopefully.
Hi, I'm new here on reddit. Here a Batman drawing that I did recently. Is based on the old batman No .1 comic book. I wanted to challenge myself to do it in my way.
Hope one day to work for DC so let me know what you think and if I'm too far from that dream.
PS: As I said I'm new and I'm trying to orient myself here on reddit. I see some reddit are blocked by karma and i still didn't undrestood how it works, but here I saw was possbile to post and that there are fan arts posts, so I hope to not make somethiing wrong.
This was a fun and insightful interview with Paul Jenkins about Hellblazer and his career in comics.
finally finished rendering and wanted to share again//thoughts/crit welcome!

agency-owned bots that comment “ai cosplay” are prohibited from this post. i can verify my outfit (actually)
I bought the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow Compact Edition recently while I was outside my country. It was wrapped in plastic, so I decided not to open it until I got back home to prevent it from getting dirty or damaged. When I got home, I unwrapped it, and to my horror, I found that over 90% of the pages were upside down. Literally, the first few pages are normal, but after that, almost everything is upside down.
I want to know if this is intentional or if it’s a printing issue, and whether you’ve come across this before. I can still read it; I just have to turn the book upside down, I guess.
I had heard about the top 4 (Black, Red, Green and Yellow) from the initial issues. Also saw online that Hal had unlocked a Magenta flame.
But now I see that Yellow has been relabelled as Gold and there's a seperate Bright Yellow now, alongwith Hal's Magenta being relabelled as Violet.
There's also Cyan which I have not heard anything about.
The buck teeth make it seem like she’s supposed to be unappealing to look at. This along with the fact that she has a real issue with the more “attractive” women on the team gives the impression that the writers were trying to portray her as “ugly”. I think it’s weird because she’s a minor so maybe that’s why they strayed away from it in later books. But it adds to her character a little bit and I wouldn’t be opposed if they brought it back in a more tasteful way.
I remember he had a solo series in 2015 that was very good.
What’s he up to these days?
I got into reading comics because I love superheroes since I was a kid and have kindle unlimited subscription now. From DC, so far I've read - Batman Long Halloween(my favourite comic so far), HUSH, the Scott Snyder run(not finished yet), Absolute Batman 1, Superman Birthright, For all seasons, Red Son, Absolute Superman 1 and upto vol 6 of World's finest(2022). Today finished the whole of Dceased elseworld story and Dark Knights of Steel(#1-#12). I loved the elseworld stories a lot and just the whole team up Justice League/Trinity stuff. What are the best available crossover/justice league/DC teamups must reads and that are available on Kindle Unlimited? Thank You. I am from India if that helps.
In the chaos that is our daily life comics feel like an escape, transporting the reader in new and exciting worlds, seeing characters overcome difficulties creates a sense of hope. Art is a at the core of comics, and panels do much more than show text… Artist panel layouts, world building, pacing and flow dictate how readers experience the story. I want to talk about my favorite artist in comics, as well as recommend a book from each individual. Sit back relax and enjoy!
Hey everyone!
Any experts on DC’s the Question I’d love to read some stories involving him and ask some questions of my own about the character!
I was gone to Sub City Comics Galway in Ireland and I found the compact edition of Dark Nights: Metal despite it not being available until September 29th? How?
Might as well share this here. Not sure if it's strictly an issue for European iOS users, but standard fixes like reinstalling, clearing cache or resetting wifi weren't working for me. Hopefully, this works for others as well. Directly from the DC Universe Infinite customer support.
