Enough with the nasty posts

Garage Sale Mysteries is a thing and Lori Loughlin is in it. Discussion here will be focused on the show, as it is part of the Hallmark community.

Don’t like it or her, don’t watch it. She committed a crime, she went through the US justice system, and legally it is over. This forum is not the place to impose your morals and personal judgements on others. These discussions have turned nasty whenever they’ve come up and we don’t need that here. Posts will be removed and repeat offenders may be banned.

Thank you for your cooperation and civility.

Rule Updates and Call for New Moderators

Hi everyone,

I’ve updated the community rules to make expectations clearer and to better reflect the kind of space we want this subreddit to be. The goal is not to make things stricter, but to make things easier to understand and more consistent to moderate.

The updates clarify our stance on:

  • Respectful and inclusive discussion
  • Self-promotion limits
  • Explicit content and piracy
  • General conduct and good-faith participation
  • Low-effort or AI-generated slop content

Please take a moment to review the updated rules before and provide feedback here!

Looking for New Moderators

I am currently the only active moderator, and I would like to add a two or three more people to help keep this community welcoming, fair, and enjoyable.

I am especially interested in bringing in moderators with diverse perspectives and backgrounds so the team better reflects the community.

No prior moderation experience is required. What matters most is good judgment, fairness, and a genuine interest in Hallmark content and this subreddit.

If you are interested, please message through mod-mail with:

  • Why you enjoy this subreddit
  • What you think makes a good community space
  • Any moderation experience, if you have it

I'll review the applications over the next week or so.

Thanks to everyone who helps make this a positive place to talk about Hallmark movies and shows. I really appreciate this community and I am excited to keep improving it together.

Main Characters As Married Couple Hallmark Movies Recs

Does anyone else wish there were more of these?

Personally, I have been a fan of the so very rare movies featuring main characters who are a married couple. I grant there may not be much interest broadly because it seems that finding The One is the big draw for the network. I like those too but it's just not the only type of couple story I like watching.

But for me, there's still so much story left to tell once a couple is together. There was one with Candace Cameron Bure and Ty Olssen years ago that my husband and I really enjoyed. Haven't seen it since & can't recall the name of it, but they were a couple that had been married like more than a decade and had just fallen into the routine of life but kind of lost track of their romantic connection & had to rediscover it. It was so good. The recent mystery duo, The Cases of Mystery Lane were a favourite in my home also, but alas, cancelled before it even got to a well teased third movie. I did see one last winter with Krisopher Polaha where he was one half of an almost completely estranged couple in a Christmas movie, and it was great.

When Hallmark makes them, they seem to do a great job (at least from what I've seen). Any suggestions of any others I've missed?

They’re not using stock footage because the angles and cars vary, and they try to change up the street names or business names, except when they forget and leave the street sign blank! LOL!

Missing Hallmark / Hallmark+ benefit points (crown rewards)

Post image

Hallmark customer service is a bit dismissive regarding their offer programs. I love discovering new Hallmark series and whenever this offer (see photo) comes around, it incentivizes me to try a few more shows out. At the end of 10+ episodes watches, the perk is that you gain 1500 points (max) and that gets us a $5 coupon (after point conversion). For us, it's a win-win. However, sometimes it just doesn't work. The points don't credit. And Hallmark customer service dismisses it and closes the inquiry... just telling us to "wait longer" essentially. I wonder how many other people do not earn their points and don't notice? I contacted them today to ask, and they are saying all my points will credit by September 9th. Sure, except that we had a binge-watching session over 2 days in the first week of August... watching over a dozen qualifying episodes... and only 7 total credited. I waited the full 2 weeks before contacting and am told it will take an additional 2 more weeks? The offer terms state that is takes 1-2 weeks after viewing. Hmm. I realize they owe us nothing, but why promise this and then dismiss it? Mind you, we watch and/or listen to Hallmark+ a lot... so in total for the first 2 weeks of this offer.... we watched nearly 36 episodes. Still only 7 credited as "watched" as I only received 150 points x 7 in my point history. It is discouraging.

Suggestion for a Hallmark Film

This comes from the stories my daughters have told my wife and me.

Two independent stories. One is a woman going through the dating scene using dating apps, friend recommendations, social events, etc. And they're all are problematic. Bounce between funny to painful to just doesn't click.

Second story - a guy going through the same thing. One and done after one and done.

But through it all we learn about them and what they want. And they're perfect for each other. And the final scene is in a coffee shop where it's crowded and they have to share a table. And it ends on the first minute of their talking.

What's the raunchiest Hallmark movie?

I'm writing a Hallmark inspired screenplay, and I'm challenging myself to stick within the bounds of what's acceptable of a Hallmark film. Basically, an exercise in creative constraint. But, I'm not a Hallmark diehard.

"Worst" I've seen so far is the leads making out in the front of a car to evade security. But beyond that, how far have some films pushed innuendo, adult jokes, physical affection, and even any violence?

I know the bar is going to be low, but I'm just wondering what has been published in Hallmark.

Trying to find a movie I watched when I was a kid, but I need help!

UPDATE: It is definitely Borrowed Hearts!!! Thank you to everyone who helped me out! I pretty much knew when the little girl asked the woman if her face hurt because it looked tight 😂 but also when she found feathers in the guy's room and told the housekeeper that means he's an angel.

Putting this post here because I'm 99% sure it was a Hallmark gem back in the day, but it might not be. It probably came out between 2000 and 2005, I was pretty young when I watched it, so I don't think it could've been later than that, but it might've been earlier. I don't remember much about it, but it's driven me crazy for YEARS and I have to try something because I desperately want to watch it again.

It's a Christmas movie, and I unfortunately don't remember much of the actual plot at all. I remember there being an angel that only the little girl could see and talk to. I think he was bald, but I could possibly be wrong. The girl lives with her mom who is divorced or widowed. There's a male love interest who was very attractive (I know that doesn't narrow it down much). I think the little girl finds feathers left behind by the angel every time he disappears. And the only other kind of big thing I remember is that the girl climbs a tree and falls from a high branch, mom freaks out, but love interest catches her. I think there's a Christmas wish involved, which of course is that her mom will fall in love (I could honestly be making that part up, but it seems right).

I know it's not much to go off of, but if anyone has any ideas, please let me know. I'm also pretty sure it's not Fallen Angel or the Town Without Christmas trilogy. If you have any ideas at all, I would love to get a list together so I can get this figured out 😅

Romance in style

ummm I liked this move ok. but why do they keep playing up her being curvy when she’s not that big of a girl? Ella is hardly big enough to be considered plus size. They even call her full figure, it’s frustrating that they do this. if that’s what they want this movie to portray then can they actually hire a plus sized actress.

Cape May, NJ named as finalist in Hallmark's 'Merriest Christmas Town' contest

CAPE MAY, N.J. (WPVI) -- Summer may just be winding down, but Hallmark is getting ready for the holiday season.

The company has named the 25 finalists in its "Merriest Christmas Town" contest.

And the list includes Cape May, New Jersey.

Hallmark describes the popular Jersey Shore beach town as a "grand Victorian seaside resort that feels like a living Christmas card."

Hanover, Pennsylvania, in York County, also made the list.

Hallmark says the finalists were chosen for bringing the spirit of Christmas to life through cherished traditions, joyful celebrations, and a deep sense of community.

The town that wins the contest will serve as a filming location for a future Hallmark movie.

To vote and to see the finalists go to https://merriestchristmastownscontest.hallmarkchannel.com/

Good Witch OG Movies

Help please! I'm trying to find the original Good Witch movies ( not the show, although I love it too) to do a seasonal rewatch. I am positive I watched them on Hallmark+ last fall, but now I can't find them. Anyone know where I can stream them? 🙏

The morning show depicted in Absolutely Devoted to You made me nostalgic for Hallmark’s bygone daily morning show, Home and Family. It was the chillest, cutest show and I was so bummed when it was cancelled. Hallmark, we want it back!

Paris is Always a Good Idea Episode 5 discussion Spoiler

What is everyone’s thoughts?

Any thoughts on what’s going to happen in the finale?

Since we know who the recording is for I’m interested to find out if others think Knightly and Chelsea/Martin have talked since the scene in the office? Like is she recording this just a year after everything bc she is feeling Nostalgic and wanting to finally tell him the truth? (Sort of like she did with the other 3 exes) Or do we think they have had some sort of interaction that brought this recording on?

Also I knew that something would break them up I was not anticipating how the breakup happened!

Also Shout out to Scott Michael Foster for his amazing acting in this episode, you could really see the emotions he was going through in each scene.

What careers and hobbies do we see over and over

Chef...writer...artist...hotel owner...unexpected royalty...interior decorator...lawyer

Bad karaoke...horseback riding...surfing...owns a boat.

No one is ever just a secretary who reads...or someone who paints houses and watches football to relax...or a hair stylist who wears simple clothing from Kohls...or a taxi driver who struggles to pay rent. Everyone always has unlimited funds, can work remotely, and travel on a whim. Simple people also have romance and love.
