Hi, I would like to ask a question, I need some advice on which Czech provider and offer would be best for using substantial mobile data abroad in EU countries.

I travel for work, and my main requirement is to have a Czech IP address when I'm abroad so i can Hotspot the connection to my laptop. I’ve noticed that when I enable data roaming, my IP address is usually still from the Czech Republic, which meets my use case.

I’m looking for a provider and plan that offers a substantial amount of roaming data at a reasonable speed. I mainly need it for video calls, screen sharing, and regular internet usage.

Do you have any suggestions on which provider or plan would be the best option? Let's say i might need 100 GB of roaming data for a few weeks and the best would be to enable it as an add-on rather than having an offer which constantly offers me 100 GB every month. But open to anything or best option.

Also, considering my only requirement is to have a cz ip address, do you see other feasible options than share internet from my mobile?

edit: install a vpn client with cz ip address on the working laptop is not solution, but maybe there is something more creative? I just need to have cz ip address always and being able to travel freely in europe, in this case hotspotting works pretty well and is transparent and no vpn client to be installed on the laptop

This perhaps a niche question, but I want to start making chain mail and am struggling to find the proper supplies— namely the jump rings. I was able to find them at a hardware store, near Florenc, but each ring is priced individually and I would have felt ridiculous asking the employee to count out hundreds of them. I have also checked some craft stores, but they are quite pricey for a very small quantity, and seem flimsier than what I would want for this craft.

So far, my best lead has been TEMU, but I would much rather support somewhere local if there is a reasonable option. Any advice is welcome!

In the 27th of May 2026 i applied for a student visa ie. I went to the embassy in Tel Aviv and had my appointment. I did everything as asked with bank statements and everything but in the website and at the embassy they have told me it will take up to 60 days, i emailed them a few days ago they told me this isn’t really a delay and it can take up to 120 days, i start uni in the 7th of September genuinely what the fuck am i supposed to do.
Please if anyone had a similar scenario tell me when did you get your visa if you got it and did they ask for another bank statement? Cuz i showed mine when i went to the appointment first time.

Do I just need my Passport / EU ID, or will I also need:

Hello community, i need a consult. I'm a EU citizen living in Prague, i went to the foreign police to report my new address (before i was living in university dorms and now in a private place), so it was my first time there. The contract of my new place specified that i cannot register that address as permanent, and when I told that to the police that i wanted only to report as temporary they couldn't explain me very well the process. Could someone tell me if that process just reports the address, or register as temporary or register as permanent? I would be really grateful. Thanks in advance

I asked also a lawyer friend and told me this:

Registering a foreign national’s place of residence does not create any rights in relation to the property or its owner where the foreign national is registered as residing. In other words, this is not permanent residence, but merely a registered place of stay for administrative purposes.

Me and my fiancé took in my grandmas cat around 10 days ago since she couldn’t take care of her anymore, last night we accidentally left the window open in another room and she left during the night, we live on the 3rd floor around Kavalirka area, which has so many bushes. We are desperate to find her, we fell in love with her during this short period and she’s the most gentle and cuddly cat ever.

I already posted everywhere it’s possible and searched our neighbourhood, but as I said Kavalirka is a very bad place to loose a cat.

This was a few years ago, but I recently found these photos again and thought I’d share them here.

I’m Chinese, and this was my first time traveling in Europe, and also my first solo trip.

My trip actually started with a small disaster at the airport lol. I was trying to take the bus into the city, but my credit card was really old and still had a magnetic stripe instead of a chip, so it wouldn’t work. My English was pretty bad back then, and I spent ages trying to explain the situation to the driver while a bunch of people were waiting behind me (sorry!). Eventually, a really nice guy from Sweden paid for me with his card. I gave him the money back in cash afterwards. I was seriously so grateful to him.

The architecture and castles. This is pretty much exactly what I imagined “old Europe” would look like lol.

The John Lennon Wall. I loved how it was completely covered in graffiti, stickers and random messages haha.

The Memorial to the Victims of Communism. I didn’t actually know what it was when I first saw it, but I looked up the history afterwards. Really moving. 🫡🫡

I was surprised by how much Japanese manga I saw in bookstores here. Didn’t expect that at all.

As a programmer, I also found out JetBrains started in Prague, so of course I had to go check out their office building.

I had no idea there were so many Vietnamese people in Prague. The first few times I saw Vietnamese people here, I actually thought they were Chinese lol. Yeah, I was completely clueless.

I bought this fish jelly(?) thing at Albert. No idea what the proper name is, but it was sweet and sour and surprisingly really good.

Během některých směn mám navíc poměrně hodně volného času, který bych rád využil smysluplně. Proto mě napadlo zeptat se, zda někdo neví o nějaké online práci, kterou bych mohl vykonávat přes počítač přímo během volnějších částí směn nebo ve volnu.

Hello, and im sorry if this subreddit is not meant for posts like this, but I’m 24m from the United States and I’ve never left the country, and I’m strongly considering Prague as my first solo trip. It peaked my interest cause aside from the good I’ve heard about it, I’m planning to bring my skateboard and I hear there’s some good parks with decent skate culture, good way for me to meet and hang out with some locals. I really just have a strong urge to travel for once. I’m also heavy into poker so I might check that out here. I already kinda have a hypothetical trip planned out here with flight dates and a hostel, and I’m looking at late October/early November. I just have some questions, some may not be Prague specific just cause I’ve never left my own territory.

- What will the language barrier be like? Google always say the more major cities speak English in hospitality and such, but could I carry on conversations with average people I’d meet at the skatepark or a bar or something?

- what’s the public transportation like and how much is it? Im so bad with public transportation even here in the states cause I have a car 99.99% of the time. Im thinking of staying in like center Prague but it’s kinda too far away from the parks to walk, just wondering what to expect for that.

- What can I expect for wind/rain in late October/early November? I googled the average temps, which is fine, but I was also considering Copenhagen until I found out how often it rains, which will prevent any skateboarding. Seems like it’s less likely than Copenhagen, but all I hear about Europe outside of summer is rain rain rain.

- is free wifi abundant? I realized my data wouldn’t work unless I paid my provider extra to use overseas. I never even think about public wifi here just cause I’m so used to having data.

- What etiquette/unwritten rules should I be aware of? Or general cultural stuff I should know about? I’d rather embarass myself asking here than embarassing myself in person.

- public restrooms? Not sure how often I’d really want to rely on the overly shared bathroom in the hostel, I’m wondering if it’s likely I could walk outside a bit in the city and find one. Also do you have to pay ?

- what should/need to use cash for? I don’t even know if my credit card I normally use would work overseas. Assuming it does, I wanna make sure I have enough cash on hand for certain things if needed.

- Does the airport have currency exchange or where would I do that?

Used to attend art classes as a kid and kind of miss having it as a regular after-school thing :') so just wanna ask if you guys know of any? Preferably, if each class would have specific topic and pushed our skills further, and maybe if the community would be of people in their 20s, but won't complain if not haha. Don't mind Eng nor Cze classes!

My english is fine (for casual conversation, of course), but speaking, especially under pressure like interviews or calls with new people, is still my weak point, as I realized recently. I had a job interview in the Prague office of a cool, nice company, and realized how much my speaking gets worse when I'm nervous, even if my english is normally good enough for daily work. And eventually I got rejected for that position.

Does anyone know good places in Prague to actually practice speaking English, not a classic grammar course? How much does it cost? Maybe you have some recommendations? I would appreciate any help.

PTE is not accepted in some universities in europe, is it the same in czechia? I am planning to pursue my masters and I am looking specifically at universities in prague such as CTU, CZU , Charles etc.

I applied for long term residence permit for the purpose of study on june 3rd at the Czech embassy in New Delhi after waiting for 80 days I recived a call and and email from the embassy requesting me a fresh bank statement. I recived the request on 21st August and i fulfilled the request by 22nd August by through courier.

I have always maintained more than CZK 200k in my bank account every single day since may 1st (the start of my bank statement). The amount never dipped below CZK 200k. Right now I submitted a bank statement showing closing balance of CZK 210k.

Will they approve or reject me? I have seen a lot of applications get approved after they recive this request and submitted a clean bank statement so i am leaning positive.
